Need some ideas

    If you havent noticed by now, me and StephenUK are making a Sonic 1 hack called Sonic 1 Megamix. It is so far intended to be an art and music edit, and Stephen is planning more. Still, I figure I should get some public opinion.

    So, Ideas plz.

    What about porting some levels from sonic 1 MS and making the game have select a charater screen ( sonic , knckles , tails ) . Think about adding your own art. Have 2 acts for the levels and on the 3nd act have a boss. Not a level and boos.

    Make sure you include the use of spin dash, that's the only thing that keeps me from playing Sonic 1 more. it was implemented in sonic 1 plus perfectly (except for the screen scrolling down right as soon as you hit down).

    An idea I was thinking about that im not sure is even possible, but would it work to link the different acts within the Zone into one big level. At the spot where you would normaly progress to the next level you could do some sort of palette change to make it look like the time of day is changing or as your getting closer to Eggman the scenery starts to look more mechanical like its being taken over by the badniks

    Playing through Sonic as much as we all have the bosses just seem so easy now I liked the idea of them having more hits required to beat them or other dangers like added spikes or badniks that show up durring the battle. the way most level changes are implemented nowdays makes getting to the boss almost a relief, its the easiest part of the zone.

    I'm actually working on the spin dash now. Making the levels flow into one will probably be quite hard. I would have to work out how it's done in S3K first. As for the boss hit counts, that will be the easy part and these will probably be changed.

    I'm actually learning ASM at the moment but due to college work, progress is going slowly. I have the concept of it all figured out (e.g how commands work and how to write the code), I just need to figure out how to implement it into the actual game itself (e.g working out where to jump/branch to the subroutines). Should have it figured out in a week or 2 hopefully.

    Lets not even get onto the topic of that. That's pretty much gonna kill off the whole Sonic-related saga. Remove the gun and the game might actually have some potential.
