    A desk.
    What? Don't be silly.
As I've heard from the Steam boards, you simply have to go to where steam is downloaded (C:\Program Files (If its Vista/W7 there will be an (x86) after the Program Files)\Steam or wherever you downloaded it to.) and delete clientregistry.blob and restart steam. If you restart it and it says its unavailable, delete it again and it should work.

After it restarts you'll be able to install.

Buy this on Steam, don't buy Sonic 4. That is all.

It figures, Sonic CD is finally released on Steam and I don't have the spare money for it. Looks like I'm going to need to exercise patience. Good thing I have all these indie games I bought last year to distract me.

Has anyone posted replacement .ogv files for the FMVs that replace the Japanese music with the lyrical versions?

Are you talking about Boot Camp? That's actually a way to partition your hard drive to have Windows-based OS run on Intel-based apple hardware, but you still need an actual Windows install.

Alternatively http://www.parallels.com/landingpage/dskd77/?source=g_us&gclid=CJ3s1ozO360CFYPc4AodXH3QlQ runs pretty well as an emulation though, even for simple audio/video editing jobs. I wouldn't run performance-dependant realtime stuff like games on it though.

Anyone else getting no roll sound effect? (PC)

  9. That's normal. It's always been that way in SCD.

The Retro engine always worked on Mac OSX, so I don't see why Sega isn't releasing a mac version.

    Jack shit.
Because the PC version is a port of the 360 version.

That's rather ridiculous... the retro engine can go straight to PC, so I don't see why they'd make a PC version THROUGH the Xbox 360 one.

I saw some guy do a playthrough on youtube of it. The opening had to lyrics restored to them, but he said in the description he isn't going to make a guide on how to do it. He could be bullshitting, but it has to be possible.

  16. If the ogv isn't encrypted or anything (and the vids on the Android version aren't), should just be a quick FFmpeg and file swap.

Yeah, apart from "Download ffmpeg," I don't know how to progress with this.

"ffmpeg -I Opening.ogv" gives me "Invalid data found when processing input" :ohdear:

I tried converting the Steam version's Opening.ogv to avi with ffmpeg to see what's up, but it seemed to work for me. Might be that you had a version of ffmpeg that didn't agree with it somehow. It definitely looks like it should be a simple file swap here. It's a standard Theora video stream and two Vorbis audio streams with no encryption. If things need redone from scratch here for any reason, though, it should be possible to just swap out the Japanese version audio tracks in the videos with full-vocal versions without needing to touch the other video or audio streams.

Has anyone found a workaround or anything for the bilinear filtering that's happening on a lot of video cards? My driver control panel won't let me just force that off like some will, and it's the one thing really keeping me from enjoying the port as much as I could. It's too bad, really.

Does that mean it runs with XNA?

Well, I'm kinda disappointed here. I planned to gift this version to some friends using Steam (due to the lack of a gifting app option in the Android Market), but I think I'll just hold back…

You know, I find it ridiculous that they would port to the PC using the console version, but this is the same Sega which had SADX ported to PC using the Dreamcast Collection version instead of, you know, the original SADX for PC. Then again, it just happened because Blit Software were supposed to handle the console version in the first place. Were they behind the shoddy PartnerNet version that was made for internal purposes only?

Anyway, I woke up today to find out that somebody has kindly gifted me this game so I'm just going to play it right now to see for myself. I've always liked Sonic CD, and it's good that this release was done since many people wanted Sonic CD out again.
