Sonic Generations Megathread

Can someone hack the game to give Modern Sonic some of the elemental shields? Or is that not possible.

 

So, uh, wasn't the PS3 demo supposed to have hit North America today? Or do they just not update the store until later in the day?

 

Chances are it's simply not been updated yet.

Anyone after a Collectors Edition 360? There's literally one left on Amazon. I had two on order, cancelled one a few minutes ago so now it's anybody else's for the picking.

EDIT: Somebody bought it. Was it anyone on here?

 

Ha ha, I don't know the first thing about hacking. My theory is that when I fell off the loop there, Sonic fell in the path of where the spring from an alternate path would take him.

 

I just assumed they put some "wind" there like at the very beginning of Sky Sanctuary (the original, not the Generations one), so that you don't die from doing something mildly stupid.

 

I jumped off the loop and died in the pit as Classic Sonic.

Falling off at any other point of the corkscrews leads to death.

 

I'm gonna try that glitch. But I could not find the fire shield :C

Players suck like no other, but what makes these special is that they're is not one talking over the levels for once.

 

Christ, that redone It Doesn't Matter solo in Modern City Escape sounds awesome. Looks like a pretty fun stage overall.

I must say I love both of the modern remixes. :D

 

The guy playing is terrible, but oh my goodness the modern mixes are so good.

 

Are these people playing with their feet? I mean for fucks sake, are these the same people who review the game?

 

Looks like the modern mix is confirmed for Jun Senoue since it's pretty much a remix of a past remix from Winter Olympics.

That being said, both Sky Sanctuary tracks sound really good.

 

I think those videos of sky sanctuary/city escape respectively confirms that normal enemies are just stepping stones with no actual threat to Sonic. Even a terrible player can't get hit by them, I'm pretty worried now. I'll hold hopes that the boss fights are somewhat difficult and the missions somewhat challenging before I make any final judgments.

The one place where this game shines is the soundtracks, definitely.

 

The new remix doesn't sound like Sonic 4 so much fortunately.

It reminds me of my first playthroughs. They're always slow and awkward too.

This game's going to be so good to explore. This guy fell down the level so much I thought he was going to die miserably in a pit, but the level kept on going.
