Sonic CD now out for everything except Nintendo consoles

Just more floor space to move around in for both you and Robotnik. That's all.

 

It's just that I'd really rather not have Sonic CD associated with Sonic 4. In any way. They have no business being associated with each other.

Unless Sonic 4: Episode II dramatically doesn't suck, but that's another thread.

I kinda found the comedy movie previewman voice hilarious. It really did sound like it was setting me up for a buddy cop movie or something.

 

Has the price been announced or even rumored? I'm curious to see how much this will be.

 

WARNING: INCOMING FANWANK THAT WON'T HAPPEN

Given all the hooplah about "changing the future" in the trailer, wouldn't it be interesting if Sonic's actions in Sonic CD actually DO have a major effect on Sonic 4's timeline, beyond just showing all the kiddies where Metal Sonic came from? It could provide an in-universe explanation of those physics and style changes we're all hoping Episode II will have by making a good future.

Another slightly different trailer just popped up on the SEGA blog.

 

Genesis MKI with Sega CD2?!?!?!? I am terribly confused. Although I see and extra plastic piece under it. Is that real?


On another note, what the hell does Sonic CD have to do with Sonic 4? Does that technically make Sonic 4--->Sonic CD 2? (and Sonic Heroes Sonic CD 3?)....and Knuckles Chaotix just doesn't exist anymore/other non-canon universe?

 

The first trailer was nothing special.. but the second one was beautiful. The entire video gave me nostalgia chills, reminded me of 90s advertising.

OMG you are so right! The realization gave me chills! That was so 90s. Still, seeing a Mk1 Genesis with a Mega CD 2 is blasphemy. Might as well make the picture complete with the 32X and the extra cables that are needed.

Yeah, what's wrong with it? I actually think it's the sexiest version of the Genesis/MD there is. I spent weeks on eBay searching for a set of those all together. :>

This image, (accompanied by the US Game Over music, of course) produces pure nightmare fuel, and is thus not suitable for children. lol

 

Care to explain how? When the Sega CD 2 was on sale (not bundled with a MKII) did that extra piece come with it or did they sell it an an extra item (therefore screwing over MKI people by charging for it)?

As far as I knew there was a MKI Sega CD for the MKI Genesis and the MK2 Sega CD for the MKII Genesis. It took me years to find out that the Sega CD was actually older than I believed and that there were essentially 2 versions. I had always heard about people somehow fitting the MKI Genesis onto a MKII Sega CD, but I never understood it.

 

The Mega CD 2 wasn't just meant for the Mega Drive 2, it was just a cheaper version that was compatible with both. It did come with that extra part, and a metal plate to stick both parts together.

Also, I think the MCD 2 was the only one properly distributed (not an imported Asian version) over here in Spain. I've never seen a Spanish Mega CD 1 box.

 

Batman is unsuitable for children?

 

Lol I had the Mega Drive 1 and Mega CD 2 set up as a kid too. Now I have both a Mega Drive 2/Mega CD 2 combo, a Mega Drive 1 (modded) and a Multi Mega (with the latter two set up).
