    Seeing how hard SEGA is marketing this game compared to the past games says a lot -- aside from it being his 20th anniversary, they're really banking on the success of this game. I haven't seen them market like this since the Sonic Adventure days. I'm pretty stoked, and I hope their decisions gets Sonic back on the board with Mario.

    I think it's honestly safe to say that this game is going to be highly praised. Colours was well done, and this game follows that formula, and also includes 2D Sonic. How much better can the game get? I'm actually failing to see how it can get ANY better at all currently. I know I've only played the 2D GHZ sections, and that I don't know what bugs or issues the full game has, but c''mon. This isn't the 'Cycle' and it's unlikely I'm actually going to be playing the game anyway, unless the Wii or WiiU has a version, or the PC version gets a full on official announcement, so I'm not exactly hyping myself for this. It's clear to me this game is being marketed like crazy because SEGA actually believe in and trust their own game, which didn't happen for years prior to Sonic 4 and Colours coming along. All in all, Sonic is back, baby.

    I may be remembering wrong but didn't someone here say there wasn't any input lag on PS3 anymore?
    Upon searching the topic, seems I was remembering wrong after all. Remind me not to think when I'm about to sleep for college :v:

    I actually thought that had been fixed. I also didn't really notice it in the PS3 demo I played.

    So rumor is some sort of embargo is supposed to released tomorrow and were supposed to get a flood of news. you guys hear anything about it?

    That's people referring to the IGN preview that's coming tomorrow. If there was going to be any info in there, chances are that hat MeriStation preview already revealed it.

    As I found out due to the Sonic Stadium, There is a new preview which has new footage of Sky Sanctuary Zone and Chemical Plant Zone, and the red rings are turned on in Green Hill Zone as well!

    Honestly, seeing all those alternate paths in Sky Santuary, seeing the Death Egg lift off and all the Egg Robos being released onto the stage, it all looks amazing. I don't care if the Death Egg is a little whiter/"more stone looking", it looks amazing to me.

    Also, we get to see a little bit of the hub in action. Modern Sonic moving around on the Chemical Plant hub with Modern Amy there to talk to. Guess you save her in Stardust Speedway instead of Classic Amy? After all, I know Sonic's rescuing his friends in the game and then after you do, they appear in the hub, and this seems like a likely thing for them to do.

    Also, I called it, death-pit city in Sky Sanctuary. I god damn knew it.

    Also that hub world more looks like a big cassete player of levels. Imagine something similar to THPS:

    Obviously this isn't animated, but you get an idea on how the world works.

    Sky Sanctuary is a totally new level.

    I guess it kind of had to be, the original was one of the emptier levels of S3K. But still, it's been really transformed. Also: City Escape truck chase music at the end!

  14. Yeah to me Sky Sanctuary was always a cutscene/transition to the final boss and not neccessarily a level and only fit within the context of S3&K. This looks more like a level. (rapid fire missile action)

    Sky Sanctuary looks fucking gorgeous. Crisis averted.

    Also the Death Egg's proportions look right, given that now we've gotten more footage to judge the distance in depth between it and Sonic—it really is quite far from him. I suppose it could look a tad more Death Star, but I supposed they didn't want to get their budget Force-choked all the way from Skywalker Ranch.

    Has anyone else noticed the little nod to the original layout of Chemical Plant Zone act 2 from 28 seconds.

    It's pretty similar, yeah. There's other parts like this at the beginning of levels where they all closely resemble the originals.

    That nod also worries me a bit, because in the original it's supposed to be the last item box is supposed to be a shield, not speed shoes. Why have we not seen any item boxes for invincibility or shields yet? Not a single one has been shown in any screenshot or piece of footage, and we're about 5 weeks away from launch. I know we have the invincibility music and elemental shields on the demo, but the fact that we haven't seen them at all in any official way concerns me.

    If I remember correctly, some guy on Youtube made a video where he proved that the invinciblity monitors work, but there are no stars surrounding Sonic when he's invincible. Probably they're still working on this effect, idk.

    No that's only with Modern Sonic. The stars do surrond Classic Sonic though.

    Oh and I'm glad they included the City Escape Truck music, I was worried they'd forget about that seeing as how most Modern Sonic levels tend to only have one song per level, rather then the Adventure series and 06 where one song could have up to 3 songs (This was also more likely the case since the older games loaded up new sections of levels at times)
