You folks should know by now that the forums screw up double dashes. Anyways, that's pretty funny. You going to give Sega's game a bad review? Well, they're going to send you a huge fucking banner and there's nothing you can do about it.
SONIC COLORS IS THE WORST SONIC GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED 1/10 ALL DAY ERRY DAY SEGA; please forward all free gifts to the following address.... :specialed: But seriously. I'd have nowhere to put that thing but I"d love to have it.
Wrong. Personally, I like the little uncurled hop that Sonic can do in Unleashed and Colors. I have no issue with it. Reminds me a bit of the uncurled Sonic 1 jump. You're right that Sonic also uncurls in Colors during the descent phase of a jump. But I already told you how to avoid this here! Again: Sonic does NOT uncurl if you KEEP THE BUTTON PRESSED. Jumping on badniks the oldschool way can be quite fun and it's perfectly possible in 2D sections, but of course it would require insane skills in 3D sections, so the homing attack is still preferable there. Check this out, for example.
Same. I have a massive (not as much so as this though) Unleashed banner which used to be outside my local ASDA (UK Wallmart) store. Its rolled up in my room because I have nowhere to put it.
Oh how lovely the irony is. Serves that douche bag right, out of the 34 reviews on metacritic, his is the only one deemed negative. (and 21 of them are positive :D ) 78 average may not be glorious but it's still the best we've seen a Sonic game get for a long time from review sites.
Speaking of some game crits, not sure if this was posted (slap me if it already has) but everyone's (un)favorite critic tweeted about Colors two days ago and attests to the game having atleast some decent writing. So I guess we can expect a review next week or in two.
Oh god I just saw this: http://www.destructoid.com/sega-officially...e—188123.phtml I lol'd pretty hard, whoever is doing this shit is my hero.
1. AHAHAHA read the previous posts on the page, it's already been posted. 2. I fixed the link to not have a -- so that it'll actually work right.
Arg, I only got 4 emblems left to collect and there ALL in different acts in the fecking aquatic park >_> they could be anywhere >_>
I do not care for how annoying Burst is to control. It made that one time level requiring it very annoying. Otherwise, I can't really find any rhyme or reason to the DS version's level design, since it all seems to spiral together through boostiness. Other than that, how do I unlock music for the sound test? Just keep nabbing red rings?
Me too actually. They were pretty simple for the most of the part since they were pretty damn automated and didnt really require you constantly holding forward due to a very weak slowdown. Although part of me can see some annoyances in doing that with a WiiChuck combo.
The only time I didn't like it was when you have to do it during Game Land...well, the Red one at least. Ugh, my eyes. x_x Plus the score counter was kind of in the way...sort of.
Welp, I just beat Sonic Colors for the Wii. 7 hours, 3 minutes, 105/180 red rings, 2/44 "S" Ranks, three game overs (all in Planet Wisp Act 4, I was way too fucking impatient). I like some of the ideas in Colors, but in the end, I'm left feeling kind of empty. Sure, there's a lot of levels, but surely people have noticed how Act 4 of Tropical Resort is just Act 1, except the goal is at an earlier point. Lameass boss fights of course. I didn't feel like anything in the game was cheap, even Asteroid Coaster. Precision platforming is awkward because of that little spike in Sonic's first jump height. Broad platforming such as running and jumping from one platform to the next is fine. I like Sonic Team's new approach to handling underwater segments. Like Sonic 4, Sonic Colors' level design feels repetitive, but not to the same extent. But it's still noticeable to me. I was gonna buy this, but I'm really glad I rented it first, since I will likely complete the game 100% before Sunday night at the rate of playing two and a half hours daily. It's still better than Unleashed overall and even the Sonic Adventure games, but I'm not satisfied. Not worth fifty bucks, nope. If I had to tack on some number, even though I hate the idea of doing that, I would give Sonic Colors like a 6.5 out of 10. To put that in perspective, I would rate Unleashed 360/PS3 as like a 3.5/10.
Its not just Tropical Resort, most of the other worlds do have atleast one act that is a bit of a redux of another level. It operates on a similar premise as Secret Rings and Super Mario Galaxy sort of. Personally I don't mind it that much when the levels already are as good as they are, and some of the changes are pretty fun to go through, sort of like a "hard mode".
Oh, Yahtzee. I love your unpunctuated sarcasm. Can't wait to see it. You know, if I had to choose between being a Sonic fan and having a sense of humor, I'd take the latter in a heartbeat. Might live longer. Still don't agree with Sterling, but who gives a shit. I haven't even played the Wii version yet, but the DS version is pretty fun so far for your standard Sonic Rush fair.
Guys, is there any way to improve the image quality of my Wii? This game is beautiful, but only vaguely. Are Composite Cables worth buying?
Turns out the Sonic hat is practical, too. It makes for a nice winter hat now that it's started snowing. I think everybody knows that. That's how you're supposed to do it. I just mash A so I homing attack him a bunch of times, then once more during that slowed down time, then I boost.
