What? What does it being a mac have to do with you downloading it? Do you not have a rar extracting utility or something?
I don't have a rar extracting utility... actually though, with all the good things I've heard about it, maybe it'd be better to hear it in the game.
Sonic sounds like a badass 90s teen and Robotnik is back to being a general dick with very witty intentions instead of being that dark, serious character that SA2 morphed him into. Yes. This is a good game.
Even if discussion of spoiler material was banned here, it would be smart to avoid the thread anyways because, you know, it's the internet. Hence my "duh" response. Unless you don't care to be spoiled here and there, I honestly wouldn't be browsing around much forums from now till the game releases. I've been spoiled plenty times on Sonic 4, just by reading article comments. People are just stupid.
Hey PJ, think you can give us a list of what songs are what? I guess what a few are but cant make out the rest. Also, are they supposed to be going in a odd number order? (02,04,06,etc.)
Question: Are the Emeralds even part of the plot at all in this game? Or do they only exist as part of the Sonic Simulator?
To everyone saying the "Super Sonic" music means Super Sonic is playable in regular stages, did you forget "Theme of Super Sonic" from Sonic Adventure? It could just be a powerup cutscene. Chill out. This music is fantastic. It actually got me to stop listening to Tee Lopes' GHZ rendition after listening to it looping hundreds of times all day. Asteroid Coaster is so Adventure Senoue with the amount of guitar in there
To note, without the emeralds collected, there is no power-up cutscene. And that song fits more for an in-game experience than a cutscene.
Indeed—it's a repetitive jingle of the game's main theme. Exactly what constitutes and Invincibility/Super Sonic theme in a Sonic game. Probably just as annoying to listen to for long stretches of time as a Super Sonic or Invincibility theme, too... Whatever it is, it doesn't sound like a goddamn cutscene theme.
Just because that's the way it's been in the past doesn't mean that's the way it should continue to be... it sounds extremely annoying, even more so than any other super sonic music I've heard.
Re: Super - I think that he is in there peripheral; just a level thing (I say just, it's a friggin' awesome thing) - having seen the stream I'd be really surprised if there was a story related factor. Almost completely unrelated - does anyone think that the lase wisp jingle sounds like the intro for Speed Slider? (Chaotix)
<div align='center'> "The mighty ocean! Cradle of life! Trivialised for your amusement at Eggman's Interstellar Theme Park." </div> OK, I admit it. I lol'd. Not convinced that gameplay's anything other than a line-fest, but the PA might be able to make even Straight Line Zone tolerable. It really raises the question of why SEGA promoted S4 to the ends of the earth, and kept Colours comparatively quiet, when the latter is obviously superior.
I dunno...like it's been said, the Super Sonic Jingle doesn't sound anything like what would be played during a cutscene, or during a climactic final battle for that matter. We'll just have to wait for those of us who have Colors to beat Sonic Simulator.
I found a reference to a certain Sega racing game in the soundtrack release: the song "26- bgm mlt b nomal wav aax" sounds so similar to this in the beginning. Super Hang On is amazing, btw.

Hey, I agree with you. Even though Sonic 4 has a pretty cool Super Sonic theme, I still bust out the Custom Soundtracks when I play a Super Sonic run. It gets tired after fifty times or so. This one's actually even more repetitive than S&K's invincibility theme, which... I didn't think was possible, actually.
