I have never worked so hard on Long Version since nowadays.

I'm certainly impressed with those screens, SHB. Can't wait for a new release of the hack. :(

The first screen looks kind of odd, though. I think it might have something to do with the layering of the tree, Sonic & Tails, and the railing. From what I can see, the spikes are on the path itself, and the tree trunk is behind those, holding the path up. It looks like the railing either runs behind the tree trunk, or cuts off at the tree trunk and starts again on the other side. Whatever the case may be, in order for Sonic to be able to run behind the railing (I'm just being technical, btw), he'd be running in the air behind the platform's railing. ;) Maybe you should consider setting it up so that the railing runs in front of the tree trunk, since I think it's kind of cool the way Sonic and the spring are behind the railing. If you did that, it would look more like Sonic was running on the path itself.

The only thing I have against resurrecting Wood Zone is that so many tiles are missing from the level art and no one bothers to remake/replace them in their hacks. Now I'm not saying resurrecting it is a bad thing, but my suggestion would be instead of having areas that go against every rule of good level design (based on the thing on SHaC, the thing that says two side tiles should line up and then give examples) perhaps you should attempt to recreate the missing graphics. After seeing what you did with Genocide City (which was incredible by the way, I don't think I ever actually told you that although others did I know) I know perfectly well that you could pull it off if you really tried. Just a suggestion though.

Don't worry about Wood zone. I finished his layout and now the level is completed. For my part, the final result is very good and looks very nice, like an authentical Sega level. I fixed his collision data to be able to climb everywhere with Knuckles without problems, and to fix 99,9% of bugs you may noticed.

For the railing, like under GCZ, I can't draw one where there is the tree trunk. The problem is if Sonic is behind this railing, he'll be behind a part of the trunk also. I can delete all railings, but this is better that way. For missing tiles, I have (in hex) 86 128x128 tiles instead of 40. This is more than enough to make the level. :(

    Yes, why not?
But I have to make another 128x128 tile to do that, and I think this'll be very strange with spikes.
This screen is only a very little part of WZ act 2, and this happens some times during the level.
Really, this screenshot may be strange for some people, but when you are playing the whole level, this looks nice and you don't care about this.

    Some random technical informations:
    Wood zone 1:
69 tiles long and 16 tiles high.
Average time to reach the end: 1:45
    Number of single rings: 223
    Perfect score in about 4:00
    Number of 1up monitors: 1

    Wood zone 2:
92 tiles long and 16 tiles high.
Average time to reach the end: 3:30
    Number of single rings: 253
    Perfect score in about 7:45
Number of 1up monitors: 2 (one with Knuckles only)

*Checks site*. A new version out by October? Can't wait. Sonic 2 Long Version is the second best hack I've seen (quickly approaching best).

SonicMaster, stop bumping threads. If they're more then seven days old, please don't. However, I think this one particular thread is in need of an update. What's the news, SHB?

    Hehehe...
Again one huge draw (about 100 8x8 tiles) and here we go!
The next version will be out in a few days.
I'm playing Wood zone and Dust Hill zone so often...
So many secrets and so much to say...
I can't wait to release it myself!

    EDIT: much -> many
