    I'm buying this. Personally I'm excited for this. It may not be Sonic Colors for the Wii, but this game has a certain charm that attracts me to it.

    Besides the only thing about that pisses me off about this game is the damn uncurling. WHY IS IT THAT WAY? Besides that though I'm pretty satisfied

    I'd buy this for $10, but $15 is way too excessive for five zones, 13 acts and seven special stages.

    Although, here's something which hasn't been discussed much. Perhaps this game will have a few things available as DLC. I don't mean anything like Classic Sonic (although it would please people, it'd just be a minor model change), maybe the two iPhone levels could be made available to the console for shits and giggles. Even though bugs have probably been fixed, the mine cart level was hilarious to watch.

    The only DLC I'd like to see for this game is a physics patch and classic Sonic. Maybe Tails and Knuckles but that's probably more of an Episode 2 thing.

    This game definitely has charm to it, and I really don't care about the physics all too much (besides standing on walls). I just wish the game was more focused on rolling and running around rather than being pushed forward and using homing attacks. Either way, if it's fun it's fun, which will be judged when I play the demo.

    I'm still trying to figure out how Splash Hill 3's music is different. Is it the baseline in the beginning? I just hear less notes before the B part. But I'm awaile of the menu music's lovely extension.

    So, he seems to bounce the exact same height wherever he's falling from, making it (almost?) impossible to bounce through the chains of bubbles the correct way.

    He's only bouncing like 2 feet off of every Bubbles he hits. You can't guarantee that in that video the player was holding A to make him bounce, but people with the leaked build said he doesn't. There was no reason not to incorporate bouncing. They can't hide behind the same "we'd need to adjust level design" excuse they used for air inertia.

    I keep meaning not to go on about physics now, but it's just the way the discussion keeps going.

    I've seen people make it up the bubbles without using a homing attack. End of discussion, this isn't debatable. It's possible to make it up the bubbles by bouncing on them. Now find me a quote saying the bouncing high physics are no longer there.

    The bouncing high physics aren't there. I'm not sure why this is a need for debate. We've seen countless videos, and hell, even the whole game was leaked. New videos further prove that Sonic only bounces a certain height off things. At the end of the day, no amount of fingers on keyboards or crossing fingers is going to change that. As with the rest of the mentality of this community (and rightly so), you are guilty until proven innocent. We cannot say something unless we have evidence, and in this case, we cannot say that Sonic 4 has ever, or will ever, in any shape or form, give the player the ability to bounce high off stuff. There's no 'concrete' evidence to suggest that it won't be included, but given that we've seen so many videos and it just has not been shown, how are we to assume otherwise?

    The bouncing high physics are no longer there. I know because I've played it.

    They might be added as one of the physics fixes, who knows?

    Just to clarify when I posted that video I wasn't saying that the regular 'jumping on badnik' physics were good or bad, I was just giving a reference.

    I agree with Dark Sonic, this game has it's own unique charm that I can't quite put my finger on. When all the episodes are released I think we'll have a nice little series, and I have this feeling that the new things in Episode 2 are going to surprise us, in a good way. ;)

    Re: DLC, I would pay a whole nother 800 points for a model/animation swap that turns Sonic into Shadow. I've wanted to see him in an official 2D game since his debut.

    And no, Battle and the Rivals don't count. Those are 2.5D

    I'm working on working up the willpower to work on learning how to make my own Sonic fangames. Not quite there yet.

    Yeah. Given our current impressions of the game, I may only be willing to pay about $10 for Episode 1. Then Episode 2 & 3 can tidy up the final price to $30. Or $40 if there's a fourth.

    I doubt Dimps even know about sonic bounding high off boxes and badniks if you keep jump held down, someone needs to post them a copy of sonic 1-2-3k and a megadrive at some point with a friendly letter attached.

    Just like rolling down hills for extra speed and staying in a ball off a jump, bouncing heights are important to the classic 2D part of sonic games.

    Pretty sure rolling down hills for extra speed and staying in a ball of a jump are still in this game.

    Bouncing heights were definitely a big part of sonic 1 and 2, I never used it in sonic 3 and knuckles, though.
