We can only pray this happens, my friend. Honestly, I don't see why these wisp powers can't just be regular power up item box stuff from now on. I mean, they didn't need explanation in Sonic 3&K right? Who says they need a backstory to be included? I'm thinking maybe if the light hearted, carefree tone of story telling keeps up, we might not have to have one after all. Hell, maybe after Colors they'll realize that this type of gameplay is their formula. Just improving on what they have now, possibly incorporating more characters in the same vein. Then they can just focus on good level design from there on out, and making a good, well written story. (Er, not implying that Colors' story isn't, I mean like, in future installments.)
Ah. x_x Sorry then. When I don't check the forum for awhile, and these topics shoot up 20 pages, I can't be arsed to check what I missed. But, from what I was able to catch up on.. Tails' voice seems alright, but I didn't hear that much of it. The multiplayer I really hope is gonna be online.. And well, single player is looking quite nice. Edit: Actually yeah.. It kinda does sound like the Alton Towers thing, now that I think..
It's such a shame that Tails has a great voice now but Sonic still has a fake, flat, and overall annoying voice. Still skipping this one though due to I really don't care for Unleashed and the straight truth is that this is Unleashed lite.
Actually it's more like Unleashed XL, seeing as how its got more of what made Unleashed tolerable. But I get what you're saying.
They may have different mixes for each act, or at least two alternating ones. I hope they didn't get rid of the original Tropical Resort mix. The effect is called flanging, and that one didn't really bother me since you can still here the main track but the constant broadcasting of power-up names and their accompanying sound effects do. So onion ring wisp confirmed?

Says in there that Planet Wisp is the 1st planet too. Wonder why we got Tropical Resort and Sweet Mountain 1st... But yeah, GameSpot is praising this game. This is awesome.
You could pick a hundred different levels to match with that. The GHZ one looked like a genuine homage. This looks like coincidence, made all the more likely by the fact that you're actually looking for patterns now.
Hm. Not sure what to think about Sonic's voice so far. I'd still like to wait until I hear an actual voice clip from the game instead of from an old Alton Towers recording. That said, the latter recording does sound significantly goofy. Hope Craig does some work with it. If not, though, I probably won't give that much of a damn unless it's just that bad. It would be cool to see the Game Zone levels mimic old Sonic stage designs in vector space.
Could be, we need to see the rest of the level since we only see it to a point. We looked since Dread of Sonic Stadium said there is something really cool about all the Sonic simulator stages that isn't big but is really cool and hinted we were getting it with the Green Hill stage. He can't say until September 20th when embargo lifts though.
I'm kinda hoping for a Flying Battery Act 1 mimic myself. Whenever I think Sonic, I always think of either that zone or Emerald Hill for some reason.
SPOnG has an interview with Takashi Iizuka in which Iizuka does NOT say anything retarded or destroy PR work... I'm impressed. Maybe it's his translation team failing him after all: http://spong.com/feature/10110209/Intervie...-Takashi-Iizuka
