That is just awesome beyond words. What could it possibly mean? Perhaps they were trying to portray Nintendo/Mario as something only horrible evil villains play?

 

Well, Robotnik and Mario are also both fat, wear red, rather old, and have extravagant mustaches. Hmmmm.

 

Don't forget the unusually large noses.

 

We may have uncovered one of Sega's secret failed plots to destroy the competition through subliminal messaging. Seems like all Robotnik's missing is the hat and overalls.

 

This is kind of random, but I noticed that, in SA1's Station Square, the word "atoz" is on a few textures, including the car licensce plates and signs. Do you think it has some kind of inside meaning?

 

I didn't notice that. I did just notice that one of the newspapers in the newsstand is titled "SEGA Today", and the Taxi that drives around has "KEN69" written on the back. Could that be some sort of username?

I also accidentally figured out you can get to the crystal ring without using the ring trail simply by spindashing at the door, and the little light ball things can press the button inside for you. Kinda pointless.

Oh, and while we're on the subject of Sonic Adventure, I just tried playing through Lost World on the DX version and I noticed several oddities I hadn't noticed before. Here's a couple:
1. After you get out of the tunnel full of the flaming pillar things, you can spin the camera around to see there's no wall there behind you, allowing you to see outside the tunnel you just ran through.
2. In the room full of water with that snake-thing swimming around, after you raise the water level you can leave the room the same way you came in and not be underwater, but re-entering the room will put you back underwater.

 

"A to Z"? As in the alphabetical order? Maybe they just needed some filler text. :X

I checked the game's credits on the wiki, and Ken69 might be Kensuke Kita. It isn't uncommon for graphic artists to stick their name in signs, license plates, or any other place which needs random, unimportant text.

 

So, was playing Sonic 3D and got to the Final Fight Zone. I decided to try and break the level in any way possible. That didn't really happen but I did find something I wasn't too sure was well known so I thought I post about it anyway.
Ok, so after you hit Robotnik during a phase of his attacks and an extra floor piece opens up to go to the next area, a beeping noise is heard. I always thought this was to alert you that the next area was accessible, but it's actually a timer. If you wait around, it speeds up a bit and then you hear an electricity surge noise, followed by the whole floor "exploding" as it were.

This will instantly kill you, regardless of rings or where you are standing.

Does it still kill you if you jump to the next area just as it starts?

 

Ok... it might be a bit late to say this, but meh, better late than never.

I recorded 2 videos of 2 previously mentioned tidbits.

As far as I know, Deef and McGuirk found these, respectively. If they want, I can remove the respective video. But why in the world would they want the video removed?

 

Now why would they bother programming that behaviour if it wasn't intended to happen? Clearly you're supposed to be dead at that point.

Unless Tails can get you out of death or something...

 

I've legitimately (well, without debug, at least) managed to get on top of its head before, I think as Knuckles, though I really cannot remember how. Might've involved Hyper. So there is a purpose to it.

 

Can I get that on real hardware please? =P
