Heh, nope! I've not played it much, to be honest; it looks like it could be quite fun to challenge myself to some of the achievements, but I don't think I'd stand a chance on the leaderboards or anything. And I'll probably try each with no hits, fail miserably, and rage-quit in grand style.

 

I failed in grand style by being hit by the swinging maces in SBZ3... and subsequently dying.

 

In fact you have to try in order to get one of the achievements, but that's not all you have to do! (Though for me, the achievement banner just keeps appearing, and after restarting it says I still don't have the achievement. Anyone know why?)

 

The "Took the Higher Path" achievement is broken. + - After reaching the top of the level, just before the signpost, run left and you get it for for free.  

 

To use this hack, I must have to be a member of Sonic Retro, right?

So, if I show this hack to someone else who is not registered at Sonic Retro, he must to be validated and pass the trial member phase?

 

It only matters on uploading your scores and achievements as you need a username and password. I think you can also upload even if your a trial member.

 

I was able to upload scores while I was a trial member. So my guess is you don't need to even be validated or something. I might be wrong, though.

So, I don't know if it already in the plans, but I will suggest: How about creating a system to create cards for the forum signature with the Achieviements Rings like PSN or steamcard does?

 

I believe that's already in the works or under consideration.

 

Is there going to be a Retro Channel version of Sonic 2? If so, I hope I don't have to wait until 2011.

This does exist on the original. I have encountered it a couple times myself. Or at least, there's a copy in the version of the ROM that I have. Granted, this rom is an "SMD" rom that I've been shuffling about from hard drive to hard drive ever since waaay back when, but when use an SMD to BIN converter to switch it back into a non-interleaved format, the Sonic 1 header does appear ( © SEGA 1991.APR SONIC THE HEDGEHOG) etc. Obviously the forums don't show all the extra spaces between "THE" and "HEDGEHOG", but I assure you they are there.

Where the hell are you guys getting this? It doesn't happen in either of my Sonic 1 ROMs.

 

And I also don't remember ever encountering that glitch in my carts. (Both the "Not for Resale" one and the one on Sonic Classics.)

 

Man I'm pissed at this. I went to get the snail pace achievement by completing some of the levels right near the last few seconds of time out and I got this.



Not only that but I had a low hit count which I have now lost because of this bug. Needs sorting.

 

Are there any plans to make this game compatible with real hardware, through the Mega Modem or something similar?

That would be even more awesome.

 

The Mega Modem requires either a dial-up connection or Retro Channel having its own phone number. Good luck =P And I don't think anybody here is willing to build custom hardware exclusively for it.

And, the main reason for this post: you should make it so, when you enter the password, it resets the last character entered to a capital A, so if someone is watching, they won't see the last character of your password. The name is fine, of course, but you can change that as well if it would be easier, or even just for consistency.

Oh, and instead of HACKED, you should make it say CHEATED, like in Portal.
