    I own a Sega Master System Which My Friend Gave Me. And There's something Weird about it... The Weird Thing is that The Controller of the SMS is a Megadrive Controller! When you Play it With the MD Controller None of the Buttons work except...

    B= Button 1
    C= Button 2
    Start= Button 1 or Button 2 (B or C)

    Yep, and that's all the buttons that work. Weird, huh?

    Oh no, not you. You got banned from Sonic Cult for good reason. If I recall correctly, you posted a theory which went something like "I think that Sonic 2 Beta was supposed to be released/leaked after Sonic 2 and called 'Sonic 2: The Lost Levels'. Anyone agree?" I would look it up, but I'm using a laptop whose batteries are being rapidly drained and I don't have time to go there.

    Also, please don't capitalize every other word in a sentence. It's very annoying when people can't even manage to use proper grammar.

    As for the actualy content of your post, I don't have a SMS or Megadrive/Genesis, but the controller for the Megadrive could easily have been made to be compatible with the SMS. As for why only three buttons worked, that was probably because the SMS only had three buttons (I think; perhaps it was four?).

    Im sure everone knows that. The Commodore 64, Amiga, Megadrive, SMS, Texas Instruments, and Atari (There may be others) All have the same port connection.

    vangar - close.

    The C64, Atari 2600, and all other systems that use a 1-button joystick and DB-9 connector have the same pinouts. The SMS and Genesis have similar pinouts; however, the Genesis uses multiplexing. When plugged into a non-Genesis console, the multiplexing is disabled, which allows some functionality. In the case of the SMS, you get everything but A and Start.

    Start sometimes acts as B or C due to the multiplexing of the controller's signals.

    The above post is spam. Anyway, I used an Atari one-button joypad in a Genesis once. On Streets of Rage 2, the game recognized pressing the button as "B", followed by "A". Are the power sources the same? Or will one of the joysticks fry after some period of time?

    Nothing that concerns this place in the least.
    There's this strange red nad black joystick that I have, and it has the Sega Genesis plug port thing on it. I've always been puzzled as to what system it was for (probably an old system like Commodore 64 or something). I've never bothered trying to plug it into the Genesis before, but I might try it when I hook up my Genesis again.

    Well that's not a bad find. It's nothing new to people who understand how electronics work or have tried this before, but it's not a bad find. Don't listen to people who try to put you down for something that sounds simple to them.

    Guys, can I suggest perhaps being nice, even to people who may be newbies? The reason is, when I came to this community and stuck by my guns to continue being nice to people, they started looking up to me like I was on a mountain a few short years later. Niceness builds a positive character. Knocking others down simply because you can or because they seem stupid to you won't give you much respect. Lets treat people with respect.

    BTW: I could care less if he was banned at the CulT or not. This is a different place. This is S2B.

    I might say the same, except that he's acting exactly the same; making stupid "theories", never contributing anything useful, and using incredibly bad grammar. Even though it's a different place, it's still the same behavior.

    Let's re-read what I posted. Perhaps you missed some things?

    You got banned from the CulT!? I never expected that to happen.

    Back on topic, I was never aware of that Genesis controllers were compatible with the Master System. Interesting....
