lol

I'll probably wait a bit before I buy this, money is tight now and I don't even think I'll be buying Galaxy 2 right away, and I'd sooner get that than this, so we'll see. I hope this is good, but I'm gonna wanna hear impressions before I buy it and hell, I might even wait for the inevitable disk release of it, for novelty's sake.

Wow, Sega is really fast taking down the leaks these days.

Obviously no, it's illegal anyway.

I'm working on working up the willpower to work on learning how to make my own Sonic fangames. Not quite there yet.
Dude, I'm tired of saying this: the number of lives you can get during a natural playthrough is nowhere near that ridiculous. 75 lives, 250+ lives, if you see a number of lives that high, it's a result of life-farming. Maybe when all the episodes are out and stacked on top of each other into one uber-game, we'll be able to get triple digits in one run. Not in four zones, though. Nowhere even close.

Another full playthrough's worth of footage was live-streamed. Mad Gear Act 2 was also uploaded to YouTube. Both leaks come from someone using the same screen name on both sites. As for the link, I can't help you. I don't have the URL saved anywhere.

Okay, now I get what you mean by rev up. Let's get some stuff clear:

Leaked Content Guide for Dummies

Warning: TONS OF SPOILERS

-Around 8 videos were leaked

- The videos were normally around an hour long, the longest being 2 hours

- Almost every level was shown, save for Casino Night Street Act 2

- Supersonic can transform in mid-air, it is not automatic

- The more you rev up a spin dash, the faster you go when released

- If a slope is steep, you'll slide back down after trying to walk up

- The ending cutscene is different than that of the last leaked video, even though it's STILL the good ending (or is it? Are we sure that what we saw was the good ending?)

- The rest of LLZ act 3 was shown, with a second water slide portion. There are parts where you tilt the screen to release a cork and blast out

- In sonic's idol animation, he taps his foot, then looks at you, taps his wrist, and finally lays down and starts relaxing

- The roll makes you faster on downward slopes, but if you do a spin dash your momentum is unaffected by downward slopes

- The videos are no longer available, but maybe some people downloaded them

Did I miss anything?

Doing absolutely nothing
Reminds me of Sonic 1, running at full speed down slopes doesn't do anything to your momentum, but when you roll up into a ball the momentum instantly picks up.

11. If you want difficulty, check good ol' Mad Gear Zone.
I think its been likened to Metropolis enough by now.
Seeing HQ footage of it makes it apparent that in terms of aesthetics, it looks nothing like metropolis, especially given Act 3's gimmick.
The guy did say you will probably embed your controller into the TV due to Mad Gear Zone.

Though I don't really get why there's a problem with cheapness in Mad Gear, when clearly, Labyrinth Zone, Metropolis Zone, Carnival Night Zone and Sandopolis Zone, had their fair share of problems......is it because they are the classics? :specialed:

It doesn't actually look that bad to me, Mad Gear. Probably be a little easier in widescreen, though.

They weren't changed. In one of the new leaks, Sonic was able to crouch on a small regular ramp 3/4's of the way up, and SPINDASH up it.

I just hope the slope issues are fixed for the final build. By the way, do we even know how up-to-date this build is in the first place?

Internet.
At this point, it's got to be either final or very close to.

The build they're working with must be close to it. How up-to-date with that is the PartnerNET build?

Tweaker went over this before... changing that would change the entire game. He needs to be able to stand at an angle, because otherwise he'd go flying off after running up it. The feet need to stay on the slope when running up it. It's not something like a glitch, it's supposed to be there.

And the PartnerNET build was put there on February 6, 2010 according to infinity.

When running up, yes. Not when standing still. It depends on how it's changed, doesn't it?

I don't see why it should be so hard for that particular slope. You can run on ceiling slopes just like it and it doesn't require you to be able to STAND on those slopes in order to stick to them whilst running, does it? Unless gravity just happens to screw with those slopes that fucking hard...?

Feh, what do I know? I'm not a programmer... :flunked:

If they can't manage to make that work, then I guess there's no helping it, although they probably shouldn't have used that particular brand of slope curvature in the first place if they couldn't get the physics right.

...But just to clarify: Synchronizer, you're refering to a quarter-pipe RAMP, not the ninety-degree roundish slopes that Glem's talking about, right?

So the build we've been seeing is already over two months old, then? No sign of any updates to it?

That's a point to think about, if that's the case. Whenever the possibility of the game being fixed before release comes up, people say there isn't enough time, but if you think of it in the context of the time gap between the build itself and the release date (rather than between whatever moment it happens to be right this moment, and the release date), things don't look as claustrophobic. If your complaint is that Sonic's slope acceleration is a bit off, and the build is already two months old with several months to go, then for all you know, couldn't the designers have already deemed it thus themselves, and altered the game accordingly? Just as an example?

Well this whole "slope standing" thing isn't a big deal right now, considering we know that if he were to try to walk up it, he'd slide back down. So sure, you can spin dash from that point, but I don't see much of a difference between spin dashing while on the slope or going to the bottom and spin dashing. Once again, I don't see how this affects gameplay.

I'm actually surprised Sega hasn't removed it from PartnerNET yet. Is there a reason they can't or something?
