Watched the trailer, I don't think I saw a Banjo stage, but it did show other new stages.
Also, Banjo has the same facial expression all the time.
And Avatars look like a nice addition.

 

I'm pretty sure one (or more) of the locales in the new trailer may have been Banjo's course. I saw what kind of looked like a couple of levels from Tooie. I could be wrong, but if it's so, the course is probably Banjo Land and has throwbacks to all your favorite N64 Banjo stages.

The trailer was pretty good. It's cool how the Avatar's All Star Move is to call Avatars from your friend list to help you. Also saw a glimpse of Super Shadow. Why not Chaos Control?

Why do Banjo and Kazooie, especially the prior, look so retarded? They look seriously mentally deficient! I remember seeing the N&B designs and not liking them, but did they really look that incredibly stupid in that game?

The designs don't look that bad, I mean sure they're blockier, but hey, I like them alright. Although they sort of do look desaturated in the new video (now finally up):

Glad to hear I'm not the only that thinks that Banjo looks washed out. He's going grey!

 

Yeah, I couldn't even tell the difference between his muzzle/skin and his fur. :/

I think actually it's because of the lighting in that stage we saw him up close in.

 

I don't like the blocky designs, but that's not what I was talking about; I was talking about their faces and the mindless expressions on them. See, I was never a Banjo & Kazooie fan, not because I didn't like them but simply because I never really played the N64 games (I should really give them a try sometime) or N&B, so as someone who has no nostalgia factor regarding the series, here's what I see:

Original Banjo & Kazooie

Nothing too special, but definitely has the Rare style and the charm that comes with it.

New Banjo & Kazooie

Both look like disproportionate and washed out paper crafts, stoned, and Banjo has a look on his face that says "Holy shit I'm tough! I bet they can't even tell I pissed myself!" as though he's unsure of his position while Kazooie appears to think that she's fucking hot... For a paper-thin bird thing. And again, I don't know about N&B, but Banjo has a particularly "spaced-out" look on his face in this game.

 

They don't look nearly as blocky and papercraft-ish in-game as they do in the promotional art. It seems that in the promo art they overdid the blockiness. 0_o

I don't know, the promo art just doesn't seem to do the in-game look any justice, really.

 

That announcer was awesome, I was expecting him to break out and say "Sunday, SUNDAY, SUNDAY! Saturday too." Actually the music sounded a lot like something from King of the Hill...


They might as well throw in Hank Hill on his propane-fueled lawn mower now.

 

Why...do they look so grey...? It's like they're completely washed out.

I guess if you don't want Banjo cluttering up your box, you could just print out the original cover and slip it in the game case. Problem solved.

 

The announcer is pretty epic at least. I also like the avatar ideas.

 

Fuck me, the new designs are complete shit. Just put my childhood to rest, please.
