I'm pretty sure I'v seen a similar palette scheme in another hack, but can't think which.

I like the new font on the level title.

By the way, I agree with GasparXR. Try tweaking that palette a bit, maybe editing the sky...

That is actually very similar to my current GHZ palette, with the purple grass and grey blocks/dirt/whatever underneath. Doesn't matter though, you're using it for a different zone. =P

 

I think color schemes are bound to be similar at some point—it's not a big deal, really.

Have there been any layout changes yet? Palettes are important, certainly, but layouts far surpass them in terms of making your hack shine.

 

I've never been a real big fan of the purple, but it's your choice. To be completely honest, I think the palettes look terrible. Of course though some people like the abstract colors so it could work.

Hopefully the layouts will be done well though, and you'll make something neat out of that.

 

Agreed. Any hacker taking himself seriously should make new layouts for his hack sooner or later.
Otherwise the hack doesn't feel fresh but more like the same game with a different 'skin'.
If the levels in a hack remain the same I'd rather play the original game.

 

I like the look of this at the moment. The palette is ok, but in my opinion the shading on the green is a bit awkward. From what I can see in the pictures, the layout seems ok but I'll know more about that from a video or a beta. Not asking for one, just saying. I like the new shield too, isn't it from Chaotix?

 

Your palettes look very 'arcadey' opposed to realism. I love it.

Of course I also like the realistic ones in other hacks but it's a good thing you do things your way so we get a different experience.
