Still, the more open 3D levels he went through were pretty nice. Perhaps there was too much beat-em-up action (that...song...) but the levels were generally fairly decent and he really wasn't all that slow either! There was also some degree of actually using his momentum to help move him around, from jumping off platforms across gaps with running leaps to quickly slingshotting from platforms he grabbed.

I didn't like the day stages in the 360 version either. :colbert:

And Shadow the Hedgehog died in the name of redemption.

With some "clever" writing, there's always a way.

  5. I think the warehog concept, as shit as it was, could be translated into decent ristar style gameplay in a 2d game.

  6. Ugh, I knew something was bothering me when I saw this topic each time and now I know what it is:
"Warehog" is not a word. "Werehog" is not a part of normal English vernacular either, but it is a slang term based on the combination of "werewolf" and "hedgehog."

In addition, your last post kind of trails off from your idea; from what I can gather your original idea was to swap werehog sprites into Ristar. While I cannot say I would care to play such a hack, it is still an idea that you seemed interested in following through with.

In your latest post, however, you seem to express interest in creating a new game using Ristar-style gameplay. If that is your desire and you're intent on using a Sega character, why not Ristar himself?

Even evil nighttime Sonic would probably make more money then a game with Ristar in it these days.

  8. Sonic the Werehog isn't evil though.

No but he looks evil. And the fact that he exists is evil.

Cool Spot was a fucking BROMAN.
I had the Game Gear version and I loved the shit out of it. Never completed it, mind.

  14. I rented the SNES version once. Cool Spot was the shit, he was like...if Mario had a 7-Up-Yours attitude.
