    Doing anything at all
    TIME: 8:26:32

I think I did okay. Didn't die, either.

Anyway, excellent hack... but it's very laggy and rather glitchy. The water didn't appear, although the top of the screen was always pink. Everything went pretty slow, too.

I got 10:08:20 on my second try. Though I died once, so that took up some potential time. Plus, the final boss from Sonic 1 takes a while (at least the method I use to defeat him).

When using PAR codes to play as Super Sonic (:E) I was able to mess up the game a bit...

Download the save "S2-RR-What.gsx" from http://drop.io/mxqn2uk . Load the state: You should be at the SYZ boss with the screen unlocked and Robotnik continuing to the left.

    1. Defeat SYZ Robotnik.
    2. Once he's defeated, quickly move to the right onto the HTZ boss.
    3. After a few seconds, the HTZ boss' screen will unlock.
    4. Move onto the MCZ boss; do not fight the HTZ boss.
    5. The MCZ boss will be quite messed up, having doubled his speed and with delayed control over his drills.
    6. Defeat MCZ boss, and defeat the LZ boss.
    7. Continue to the OOZ boss to find the situation in the picture above...
    8. Defeat the OOZ boss and move onto the MZ boss, who is twice as fast as well. If you deal the final blow and he moves offscreen, the screen will likely not unlock and you'll be stuck.

The MZ boss is the last boss that has differences.

Any ideas on what happened? I have no idea what I did to start it (other than being Super?); the SYZ boss screen was just unlocked randomly and it progressed from there.

OTHERWISE, this is an amazing hack and I'm looking forward to more in the future!

For some strange reason, I find myself completely addicted to this hack.

    And I like it. =P

This is amazing, very well done.
If this is what you're able to achieve, I wonder if there will be a sequel of the bosses from Sonic 3 as well.. :)

    Work perfectly in Fusion too.
Anyways, this is fucking awesome. Didn't get a chance to go all the way through though, so I'll do that later =P (lolbrother)

Brilliant work Colin. I rarely take an interest in Sonic rom hacks, but this one was just so original. It's such a simple idea, but you're the first to do it. Incredibly fun.

I was just thinking the same thing :o

Pretty cool. I like how you recreated the stages with whateverthenameofthefinalS2zonewas's tileset (even though it in itself looks a little ugly in places). Only flaws I spot were that you could jump up to the SLZ boss normally, and bounce off him multiple times if you flung yourself up to him.
Oh, and that the S2 boss music is used for all of them but the final one. it would be cool to have the S1 boss music for the oens from that game (or preferably, all of them).

I might check it out when I get home, even sooner if it's on hacktube.

And P.P.A, Sonic 2's final stage is Death Egg Zone .

(I just realized something, 2 Sonic 2 Zones have the same name as Sonic 3&K stages- Hidden Palace Zone (even if it was scrapped), and Death Egg Zone)

Excellent hack. It's about time someone created a "Boss Rush" hack. Personally, I got an "A" rank (Stupid CNZ caused me hell as usual) but I think that this is an amazing hack, well done.

Very cool hack. One of the few that actually keeps my attention. I was actually skeptical at first, but then again, everytime Tweaker brings a hack he likes into the IRC, he shoots his load all over his keyboard and acts like its the greatest thing in existence. However, despite my skepticism, I really liked what I played. It doesn't take forever, you can sit down and play it real quick.

Like everyone else, I'd love to see Knuckles and S3&K mini and act 2 bosses :P What would be cool, due to there being so many at that point, is to have the option to do it by game.

Either way, I'd like to see more and I can't think of a way you could ruin this :P

Fuck. I gave up at WFZ. But nevertheless, this was fun to play, gotta take a lot of experience to make a hack like that. Will there be any future versions? Such as with Knuckles added or Tails flying? That would be interesting

People probably know this, but I feel I should point out a minor bug -- when pressing buttons to bypass the Sega logo, it causes the title screen music to fade out. Just a minor thing, but I figured perhaps a quick fix would be of interest.

These are all things that I considered but didn't have time to do, and I'd rather finish a decent hack than half-finish an amazing one. Still, I did put "v1" on the end of the file name for a reason...

This is awesome, period. Great work!

I've noticed that, at least when playing as Tails, Labyrinth's gargoyle heads don't have their correct colors underwater. Perhaps you should use the palettes from Scrap Brain 3? Also, the shine in the wrecking ball has some strange colors.

I just missed the Sonic 1 boss and Final Zone music, and Robotnik running away after the pistons fight (you could make him fly away after he gets to his ship). It would also be great if, besides this game mode, you could make a Sonic 1 circuit (with Scrap Brain graphics?) and a separate Sonic 2 circuit.

But it's quite amazing and fun to play, really. I wish the original devs had thought of this for their respective games.

making cool music no one gives a shit about
Hmm. You know, if you wanted, I could redo some of the graphics so they look better with Death Egg's tileset. Just a thought.

I also noticed that Sonic bounces off the GHZ boss differently, thus breaking the flow of the fight. But I think this has more to do with Sonic 2's physics engine being different from Sonic 1's.
