    Crawling, huh? Ok, if you don't overuse this technique and slow the game. Sonic game's supposed to be fast after all.

    I hope the Sonic sprite moves up and down a bit, so it looks more like hes crawling and not just moving his arms.
    The "V" looks very odd in "Very Lame Credits."

    I know you've probably worked hard on the sprite, but do we really need a crawling ability? Sonic can already roll. I'd also argue that making him slide (like in some new games) would make more sense.

    The way I understand it, it's probably possible to roll under anything that can be crawled under, but the crawling ability is necessary to prevent Bad Stuff from happening if the player doesn't have enough speed to make it all the way through.
    Like, if he ran out of speed rolling under those spikes, he'd get crushed, and die. In other places he'd get pushed into the floor or ceiling and then the player could zip.
    Both of these events are gamebreaking.

    Damn, I knew I'd've had a few typos. Thanks for pointing those out.

    As for the wierd looking letters, or "2one"... The "V" character is not available in the credits art, and niether is a "Z", so I decided on makeshifting. =P

    I don't plan on making it necessary to pass the game by wasting 5 minutes, but it will occasionally show up as an obstacle on the main path, and definitely show the way to secret passages. As for the sprites, Sparks, they aren't terribly great just yet. I've only got the arms moving... yes, the legs are stationary. I think it looks good as it is, but I'll see what I can do to fix it.

    Upthorn hit the nail on the head. I always hated trying to build stuff like this in a level only to have in unpassable, except by spindash, so I decided to add this. Also, for those who figure you can just get through quickly by spindashing, I do plan on drastically powering down the Spindash, or possibly even dropping it altogther. I might instead put in a moddified spindash that looks like the super peel out, so that way you can't zoom yourself through these areas. —However— I do have a bug in my code so far, which I can't seem to figure out how to fix, that if you stop moving while crawling under spikes you get squished and die anyways... I'll see what I can do to fix that.

    K, rather than make a new topic, I'll put this here. I've started a side-hack featuring Shadow the Hedgehog... Now, you'll probably think "oh god, unoriginal", maybe so, but I felt like doing this ever since I figured out how to work a double jump. I've only got 1 screen, and a mockup that I want an opinion on.

    Here's the mockup. Does it look good, or horrid? Cylent Night(who created the sprites) did the head of the big sprite, and I did the crossed arms... you can see the difference in quality. =P

    And, showing off my new double jump move, the air dash. It's fully functioning and actually works 100%. It's pretty weak when you use it, but when you have the Speed Shoes or you're Super Shadow, it gets much stronger. It doesn't work underwater, cause he shoots flames out of his boots, and I don't wanna have bubbles come out.

    I also have Chaos Blast programmed and ready to go. The only problem is I can't seem to load it's effects, which do work. Pretty much all it does is blow the crap out of every badnick and monitor on the screen, costs 50 rings, nad can only be done if you have the first chaos emerald. I might see if I can get the screen to tremble or flash white when Shadow does this move.

    Sure looks great, ThunderSpeed. I've seen plenty doublejumps in various games, but I've never seen one hacked in and look different like that.

    Okay, now this will own lives when you finish it. The only potential problem I see with it is that a cost of 50 rings seems like way too much. Wouldn't something lower, like 10 or 15 rings, work better?

    I agree that 50 rings is way too expensive for that, unless it kills bosses in one hit, it should be more like 10.

    I'm getting dragged along for the ride with Jake's Shadow hack... So, I decided to try coding something, and succeeded. Staying up till 4 in the god damn morning coding wasn't exactly fun, but I got a Hyper Sonic effect on Shadow when he reaches certain speeds.

    This is after Shadow got the speedshoes and did his boot charge or whatever the hell its called. The after image thingies won't show up if you charge without the speed shoes.

    Just Shadow rolling down a hill, no big deal.

    Now, Shadow only has these after images when he's either moving with -A00 or +A00 horizontal speeds, or -700 or +700 vertical speeds. Coding this little routine wasn't fun, but I like it's effects. :P

    I've also fixed two other bugs. The spike bug was one of them... I only found out that someone posted a fix for it after I fixed it myself... ah well. I also fixed Sonic's speed cap for when he's on the ground, so the after images show up longer during game play. Screenshots don't do justice for removing speedcaps, unless you edit the level to make Sonic fly off screen when he's going so fast, which hasn't happened yet. That was a rediculous bugfix, cause I overthought it way too far, it only required about 3 lines of code. :P

    By the way, Jake, you really need to change your password for Photobucket, that was too easy. ;P

    I like that idea, figure out what happened to Shadow, and make him get captured in an Egg capsle at the end of the game (leading to Sonic Heroes) :D MUHAHAHA! YOU CAN'T WIN!

    Actually, my idea was for Shadow to raid the Death Egg, and there'd be a shitload of capsuled Shadow robots on board. You'd fight the bosses again, only instead of Eggman there, the robotic ones, and they'd have higher hitcounts.

    Or if I get off my lazy ass, program new bosses and have the Shadow bots use the old bosses.
