If there are 1MB Crackers carts without TMNT data can we get hold of one and dump it, for posterity?

My thoughts exactly but I never asked this because most ppl find Chaotix crap...

The S2 protos get the patch-up treatment so why not this?

This thread is starting to take a similar theme to this one

I don't understand what the deal is with keeping up with the second half of the "full dump". Sure, that's what came out of the cartridge it was dumped from, but anything beyond the end of the actual Crackers data is just a waste of space. If you want the stuff from the TMNT game, go get that game. They didn't intend for that stuff to accompany crackers, it just happened to be on the cart at the time and stayed in the unwritten areas. I'd figure that if you wanted it to be "genuine" or anything, you'd want it "clean", with standard filler byte (aren't they supposed to wipe with $FF before writing?) rather than leftover garbage from something entirely different, or maybe even have it in s-record format sectioned off like it probably was when they wrote it to cartridge in the first place. The stuff that stayed on the cart between the data areas they wrote for crackers could just as well had been anything else, which makes me wonder, if it were dumped ten times over from cartridges where it was written over ten different games, would some people be obsessing over having all ten "versions"? Why?

I was hoping that a Crackers dump which wasn't the current [!] and was burnt to a 1MB cart wouldn't have the TMNT leftovers which appear in the lower 1MB - in effect it would be a 'cleaner than clean' dump. Even if it had the leftovers of a different game then it would still be useful - anything which wasn't identical between the two could be assumed to be a leftover of something else, and a 'cleaner than clean' dump created from the stuff which was the same.

Either way this topic should probably get a kick up the bracket, so stop talking about Crackers dumping and start talking about making disassemblies and lost stuff in it.

Funny thing is, in the proper 1mb dump, there are no leftovers of the skipped FF padding type, there actually is proper FF padding inside the rom. This is probably the reason why we don't have 10 or 20 different crackers dumps =D

This is proto stuff, not found in any other ROM.

Hrm maybe bringing up a old topic here but im skeptical that you actually bought a real crackers cart and not just the rom flashed onto a blank cart. I mean the original crackers dump was from like 1995, it seems weird a cart bought now happens to be 100% identical to this one with the TMNT data on it.

I never said that my crackers cart is the original one, did I? =P

Mine is just a copy, just like all those on ebay etc. They're all bootlegs. There is only one original, and it's not the one with TMNT data.
