Sonic looks like he has a vagina. Or is this actually his buttcheeks, part of Sega's underground plan to sneak sodomy into the minds of the children of America which began with Tails' butthole in SAdv3?

I'm looking forward to Sonic Team's Yaoi dating sim. It should at least get better reviews.

It's not that bad. Honestly, I've played an assload of worse games. I have a few things to say to people about the game.

    A) Generally Good Level Design
    B) Alright Music
    C) Halfway Decent Plot
    D) Mediocre Voice Acting
    E) It's Sonic Adventure 3 for all intents and purposes

Guys, I'm not going to say this is the Christ of Sonic games or the worst game ever. It's okay.

Buy Mortal Kombat Armageddon, instead (considering the PS2/XBOX is more feasible anyway - THAT game is gold.)

Actually, I wasn't referencing Super's comment at you, I was saying that I speculate that you have a similar flaw with logic: You begin with a conclusion and work backwards.

Of course I will expect you to reply and say something such as "I didn't do that in my posts..." Well guess what, you stated your opinion of Sonic Next in a surrounding environment that posses a feeling of animosity towards the game without stating why you think your view should be acknowledged. Even when Sonique pointed out that the game posses the same gameplay-fatal glitches as Sonic Adventure did in 1998, you casually ignored it.

Now looking back at my essay-ish post, I made a statement about the sales in Shadow the Hedgehog.

The sales measured up ridiculously high, yet the press rating ranges from a 4/10 to a 5/10. This is because of the name that is associated with the product, which is the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. What I'm giving an example of is how hardcore fans (which is the majority of those on the forums) are delusional when it comes to the judgement of Sonic games. I believe this is because they work from a conclusion ("Hey! It's a Sonic game.") and find the details that support the conclusion, or ignore the bad aspects in favor of the good. ("After you ignore the death traps, faulty camera, botched engine, cheesy dialogue, horrible voice actors, and pointless plot devices, you will find that it's a good game!")

Now lets take a look at your's and Super's post. Both of you state that the game is good, while failing to support why is the game good, and you did so at a message board where your opinions will most certainly be rivaled. My speculation to why you have not refuted what Sonique said is because you have no longer have evidence to back up your earlier statements. While I may be wrong, I hypothesize that your logic cannot back up your claims beyond that point is because you fell trap to most hardcore Sonic fans type of thinking, which is believing that if a game is "Sonic", it must be good, similar to how Christian fundamentalists believe that if the Bible said it, it must be true.

In a nutshell: I was referencing to how you both fall trap to faulty logic, not that you (Shakidna) fall trap to believing random blurbs with no creditability.

and im so sick of this too, Sonic will NEVER be good again because Sonic Team knows they can make an absolulte crap game and people will buy it because OMG IT'S SNOIC N SHADO LOL! AND LUK 10 NWE PLABLE CARATERS!....

it really makes me sad to know I'll never play a decent Sonic game ever again because of this. :disgust:

I mean listen to these NON BIAS reviews. Some of these things are just terrible that I can't believe this game would be so bad that they'd SAY this:

and it goes on like this

    THE FINAL VERDICT

IGN gave this game.... a 4.8! Sounds like alot of other reviews. Although out of all the reviews this seems the most positive, if a game that got a 4.8 can get any positivity in it. I do agree with what they say. It's a good idea to reinvent Sonic, and some of the ideas were good, but they either weren't executed well or they sucked.

    Try again Sonic Team.

honestly, this game isn't as bad as everyone is making it out to be. There are some "technical difficulties" that Sega should have ironed out, most of which have been listed here already, but the game is still very enjoyable. Personally, I never had a big problem with the game's camera, nor did I have a big quarrel with the one used in the adventure games. Perfect they're not, but bad they're not either. If you play this game without a pessimistic attitude you might just have a good time. Certain non- glitch aspects of the game bother me, like the tails using rings to attack instead of just jumping (he did it on genesis, why not here?) and the whole shadow has a driver's license now dynamic is pretty lame (the "ultimate life form" shouldn't need any of that...). Also I didn't mind shadow and Sonic's Goku and Vegeta rivalry, it spiced things up. But why make shadow slower now? I think his gameplay was meant to be identical to Sonic's seeing as the two are like counterparts, but I guess that's thrown off now that you have Mephiles (lame name, lame, lame, lame character) and silver (pretty cool I guess). Psychic hedgehogs from the future sound alright to me... I mean, since when were hedgehogs blue and super fast? Both concepts are ridiculous. At least silver looks cool. Also, the random side-missions in the town area are pretty stupid. The only thing I can say for them is at least they add replay value. But relevant they are not. I don't think Sega has murdered the sonic franchise, but they could definately benefit from not rushing their games. Remember heroes' team attacks? Crappy sequence + completely blue background! cool! ...not. The huge roster of characters is eh, I don't mind variety, but when the characters get generic that's when theres a problemephilesmephilesmephiles. Im not trying to say the game isn't a tad bit fucked, but it's not an unforgiving, unplayable piece of crap either. The game is very fun to me, I just find it takes a little bit of getting used to, where a game doesn't need it. Also, I actually like the levels that alot of people have complained were plain (crisis city plain? COME ON!), and the music is cool, if not a bit cheesy, although I do miss the style of the classic genesis tunes. If you're a sonic fan, who doesn't mind change, you'll like it. It's not THAT far-out there. But if you're an oldbie who doesn't like the new characters, sonic design, music, or level design , chances are you'll think it's a travesty to gaming and a whole lot of really gay defied tradition. I feel to accurately rate the game, you'd need both points of view represented.

I'm sorry, but if a Sonic game is as glitchy as the eight-year-old Sonic Adventure, then it's perfect in my book. That's why it may seem I ignored Sonique.

Also, what is all this shit about PRESSING FORWARD SENDS YOU FLYING IN THE AIR 100 FEET? In the millions of videos I've seen, this has never happened. Ever, nor any of the other 'fatal glitches', unless you're referring to the fact that if you homing attack when you're on the edge of a cliff, you fall, and die, and it's the games fault, boo hoo.

I don't know what caused it or anything, saw it on a video. But under certain circumstances (of which I am unknowning), can't Sonic walk around loops?

This does happen, although it is perhaps not as big a problem as has been made out. Occasionally you can be launched into the middle of nowhere rather than following a fixed spring bounce sequence or launch path, and it did give me a bad initial impression of the game as being blasted into nowhere, rather than at the predetermined point that I was supposed to land at, was how I lost my first life.

I believe it is reproducible, but shouldn't happen too often during normal gameplay. Whatever the case, bugs like this should have been squashed way before the game was released.

I leeched this for 360 and it wasn't worth the dual layer disc. It is incredibly bad.

Firstly theres the loading screens and the redundant adventure stage parts which immediately make it not fun, with some dreamcast level NPC models and bland environments. I don't believe its even explained where its set. Then going into the action stages you have horrible twitchy controls and completely on-rails sections which you often just fall through (the large concrete emerald coast style loops in the first stage being a prime example), and non-nonsensical jumping from wall to wall magically like SA1 just without the numbers.

After some more completely linear on-rails level gimmicks which are not fun in the slightest, you get to switch to tails who is suddenly very slow and throws ring bombs (???). I suppose it plays similar to E102 stages just even less fun. Then on to a boss stage with a camera that doesn't allow you to actually see the boss and keeps glitching around whenever it gets close to objects. After this you get to have another action stage where you carry a princess and use magic shields to get over quicksand, for some reason. Back to basics indeed. I noticed some praise for the music; to be honest I didn't even notice it, so it certainly didn't catch my ear.

Each level is just another generic tileset change with no imagination and I don't recall any alternate paths even. If you think this is even close to a good game you are either deluded or are straight from 1996 and have never played a good 3D platformer. Not even mentioning the fanfic-esque anime-faggot storyline the gameplay is a complete abortion and fails to actually be any fun at any stage. Even SA1 and SA2, despite the sub-character and minigame focus they started to take had it moments thanks to some decent level design in some cases. Even at times they were technically impressive, SA2 in particular on the Dreamcast hardware. This manages to have pop-up, slowdown, and the worst loading times on any 360 game.

I think they should have got smilebit to make any new sonic game. Jet Set Radio Future bared some resemblance to what I would imagine a next-gen sonic should be.

Edit: Also to whoever is trying to support SEGA and palm the blame off to Microsoft, that's complete bullshit and theres no pressure on irrelevant third party publishers to rush out games. The blame lies squarely with SEGA and judging from their recent games I don't know why anyone would still be trying to support or make excuses for them.

That would be great, but does Smilebit exist as an entity anymore? They were reabsorbed into Sega so do they exist as an individual team within Sega now, or were they totally disbanded?

EDIT: A quick Google search doesn't reveal much.
