Sonic Drift (prototype/demo) on eBay!

Interesting.. But I recently bought a CD/Record player combination offa ebay, so currently, I'm broke, for now. xD Anyways, Are there are any pictures that show diffrences between the final and the proto?

people who don't read that topic wouldn't know about this. Im not going to check every topic on a board hoping someone posts info on another beta.

 

This is NOT a proto. It's just a demo/sample/whatever cart. They're not that rare in japan.

So think about it more as a collectible, than a 'prototype'.

I think he meant "Why is it bad if it's Game Gear?" A prototype is still a prototype regardless of the system (yes I know this isn't a prototype but Sith said, even if it was, and so am I =P)... all though I do perfer prototypes of Genesis games because Im more familiar with them...

 

drx just said it's not a proto. It's just a Game Gear demo cartridge that was probably on display someplace. More of collectible value, because otherwise it's just the final, except that it runs on its own.

Anyways, let me say, IF This was a proto, then perhaps I can call the sonic heros trial a "prototype". Think of it like that.. (Unless there were stuff changed from the sonic heros trial version..?)

Edit: Tweaker, I'm a dumbass. Sorry, But still! xD I thought a trial version was just a 'free, portion-cut version of the final release' type of thing, for opinion consideration, and what to expect.

 

...of COURSE trials/game demos are prototypes - if the game was finished, you'd be playing that, not some half-assed portion of it.

 

of COURSE not. there is a certain portion of time between finishing the game and its final release to shops, you know. it was like 2-3 months back then (depending on the game though )

something that just has joypad input disabled definetely ISN'T a proto.

I just can't emphasize this well enough - demos are usually NOT prototypes. especially not this japanese bullshit, which is shit common.

 

Yeah, that's what I meant. I thought it would be quite obvious...

By the way, this thingy comes with the normal box, instructions and stuff, so it's most likely based on the final version.

 

The guy is including that stuff just as a bonus for buying the thing.
