My Sonic 1 Hack

I do like the bad Future appeal to this, I tried something similar when I first joined, couldnt get it right, you have!

that red is still a bit bright, just a tone or two lower, and it'll be perfect.

Thank you. I don't like Sonic 1 sprites at all. Maybe it's cause they are ugly, maybe cause I've seen them like 8000 times, I don't know, but enough of them. Yay for Sonic 3 sprites!

 

I only see one Sonic 3 sprite, so don't assume there all done like that. Sonic 3 sprites won't fit unless you edit the mapping, or redo them to fit. Either way, I would like to see it done.

Hmm, that one ain't an eyesore, but try not to make every level bad future style. I really dislike it.

 

I still loved the red grass & palmtrees better...

 

I know I'm going to sound like a huge douchebag here, but I'm going to say this anyway-The bad future thing is starting to get overdone a bit. Hell, I got this idea when I first got into hacking 3 years ago or so and I quickly abandoned it. And really, I think if you REALLY want to wow people, you should try to make new art for the levels, if you can stomach it.

There are so many pallet hacks out there that I've lost count, and really I can only think of 2 that are outstanding that I remember that are done without any technical upgrades(Sonic 2 Aluminum Edition, and early versions of Tohaka. Correct me if I'm wrong on these.) Seriously, while pallet hacking is a good place to start, the next thing you should try is art. That's how you make a hack that is popular and that is remembered for years to come.

Please, stop. We heard you the first time. =P The grass looked pretty bad being red, considering practically everything else was red. Brown grass at least gives some variation.

 

It still looks horrid to me. The red lake is bad, and the Grey blocks look disgusting to the grass. Grey scale's look bad in a level where its supposed to be more on the nature side.

 

Oh well, I'll stop nagging abt the grass. But those grey squares with brown grass smells like SonicCD PP bad future all over the place.

Edit: maybe not that literally coz the PP bad future was more blueish.
