I was filling in some blanks for some dumps I "conveniently" had lying around, and Tactics Ogre has a maybe-broken one

This is meant to show you character profiles or whatever. Apparently it can be unlocked legitimately by beating the game, but entering your name as "でねぶ♡れぽーと" will get you there quicker.

    but it doesn't work

There isn't a heart character that looks exactly like ♡ - the closest one I could find was a filled-in heart with lines above it. But then I'm not sure the hiragana is right either. But then I'm not sure about anything - supposedly this mode uses save games and becomes more useful as you progress through the story, but I don't know if that means you need another save first or what. I noticed TCRF sidestepped this code too.

Bearing in mind this is a Japanese tactical RPG and I don't speak the language.

Tactics Ogre/Hidden content - the music mode code works though.

Here is the string, but there's another condition that I don't understand yet... If I bypass it, I get the profile screen with this name:
    upload_2025-6-6_21-2-54.png

There are a total of 5 special names. The first is MUSIC_ON, the second is the one above, and the other three I haven't decoded yet. The last three just seem to reset to the title screen???

wiki stuff... and a beer... or two... or more...

    translated with DeepL:

    Backstage:
    ● Enlarged than usual.
Press L and R simultaneously during the display of the manufacturer's logo screen that appears when the game starts up. If successful, a sound is heard. Start the game and press A during the game to enlarge the map to a larger size than usual.

The gamefaqs page for Daytona USA has TWO different entries for the hidden highscore music:

    https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/saturn/375809-daytona-usa/cheats

The one at the bottom of the page is correct, but the one at the top has a bunch of songs that I'm certain aren't in the game, because you can step through the BGM with titles in the test menu of the arcade mode. A big red flag is they claim music from Michael Jackson's Moonwalker is in the game which... uhhhhhh....

Yeah, you need to have a save file first because after you enter the code, it prompts you to select a save file so you can see the art.

This actually does work, but the effect (1) varies by stage, and (2) is very subtle.

The zoom limit is controlled by the table at 06056614. The special effect overrides that and allows it to go to a value of 0x2d0. On the first few stages that's basically the same as the default, but on the fourth stage there's a visible difference (see screenshots).

I've been in the mood to tackle Saturn games but that Japanese list we had was hard to work with.

So I've split it into three:

    Sega Retro:Todo/Hidden content

It wasn't much fun clicking a link only to find out the clue is FINISH THE GAME.

    - Top list should be low hanging fruit
    - The "Needs research" list will need volunteers willing to become experts (or "willing to read the manual").
    - Bottom list might not qualify as "hidden". But it's not always obvious.

Many of these are partially done, but it's things like, we're telling you how to unlock fighting game characters, but we don't have a list of their moves.

It might be worth splitting up other platforms, but the Saturn is the biggest, so

Nice list! I've actually been going through and looking at the "here's how to unlock X" ones to see if there are unreported cheat codes.

This article for Omakase! Savers is one result.

No Ko-fi or anything like that. I appreciate you spreading the word! Rings of Saturn is free since I can set my own engineering priorities. If I have to follow someone else's I charge lots of money, though - ha.
