Huh, it's nice to see the main cast's stock renders getting the so needed update (even if the poses still look stiff), especially considering SEGA's been using the same crappy ones for two decades:

Modern designs for Fang and Speedy of all characters.

 

SATAM and Ian Flynn-era Archie meant the world to me growing up. After everything Ben Hurst did to try and revive SATAM… it would be very meaningful to me to see Sally and the Freedom Fighters come back.

I really hope this comes to pass.

 

I am inclined to think Sega just let them do whatever they want because they don’t actually care about this game. It’s just a card game, right? Doesn’t actually have to mean anything. Probably the only type of context any of this stuff could see the light of day again.

That’s the only way this makes sense to me. Besides obviously reeking of Flynn involvement.

But if they actually are creating models for all these things…

I don’t know, man. It doesn’t necessarily mean they HAVE to actually do anything with them, does it?

Also, if they really did get Nibroc on this, I guess it’s just continuing a trend which I admittedly do appreciate.

 

Why's modern Speedy got a dick

 

All the screenshots of the textured render of modern Mighty and one screenshot of modern Fang had similar defects. What it is, no clue.

 

Might be something extra that's concealed inside of the model for later use.

 

Here's what we know so far...





- All of the characters currently modeled are dated as March 6th 2025.
- Cream & Cheese, Vector, and Espio are NOT included as models. However, there are files that show that they will have cards in the game.
- Mighty, Fang, Speedy, Hard Boiled Heavies, (Heavy Magician) and the Battle Kukuus will all have Modern Designs
- Metal Knuckles (Modern) exists in the files.



- LIGHTNING MASTER FROM SONIC UNLEASHED IS IN THIS



Named but not Textured are...

- Trip
- Tangle
- Honey
- Sally
- Tumble the Skunk
- Nicole
- Sonar
- Lyric
- Sticks
- Sonia (???)

- Chaos 0 - Someone known for being apart of the "CANNOT BE ADDED IN IDW/SPEED SIMULATOR DUE TO BEING DEAD" cast (Tikal, Mephilies, Infinite) is fully rendered.

- Marine uses her Speed Simulator and New Render on two seperate Cards. Implying characters may use old and new renders from across the series.

- All of the bios are based on Sonic Wiki Descriptions...however this is Rovio so that actually doesn't imply anything fake. They do this for Angry Birds.

- Some renders are touched up, some are new.



All of the models in the current build have the same date of 3/6/2025. Which implies that SEGA may have approved these already...and if they had. God help us all.



We know the renders are legitimate because the same Bean render used in the leak is also in the files for the game. Meaning that the data within these pictures

Apart of me wants to simply believe that Rovio just picked random characters off the Wiki or used ChatGPT or something like that, but it doesn't add up to me...

- Where's the rest of the Deadly Six / Zavok?
- Why Heavy Magician and not Heavy King?
- Why include Psuedo-Sonic over Gemerl?
- Where's the rest of the Chaotix?
- Where's Whisper, Surge, and Kit?
- Where's Tikal?
- Where's Jet, there's Wave and Storm, but no Jet?

AND HOW WOULD YOU HAVE GOTTEN MODERNIZED MIGHTY PAST SEGA, THEY KNEW ABOUT THE MODEL SINCE AT LEAST MARCH 6TH? WHAT IS ROVIO DOING?

- Every Archie Character here was used in Post-Reboot / Sega-Owned Archie...

 

Still no Heavy and Bomb

 

Wow, I saw some of the character stuff on social media and assumed it was a fake, but it's real? This is bizarre. They're just dancing around every rule we know SEGA to have set, I wouldn't be surprised if we see fuckin Geoffrey or some shit at this point.

I'm willing to believe the character assets already in the game are real, these lists of things from other off-limits continuities, maybe not. I'd love to see my old friends again, though I'm not sure this is how I wanted it to happen.

 

Does the official Mighty Minecraft skin count as modern?
