Interview: David Javelosa (2025-05-07) by Alexander Rojas

This month I had a chance to speak with David Javelosa again! Back in late 2023, Javelosa gave me my first ever "interview", and it was high time I pay him back. This is the longest interview I've ever conducted at OVER 2 HOURS of Sega info, and boy is there a lot here. We've got insight into his musical background, we've got anecdotes about early Sega of America. We've got 4 undocumented games, including a fricking Genesis SETI project and a smatter of celebrity tie-ins that went nowhere. Including the Sister Sonic-like Sonic and the Wolf adaptation. I guarantee you it's a much less exciting story than you're imagining. Anyway! There's so much here I know I'm missing a lot. Enjoy!

As a bonus, we've even got a clean copy of the fabled SCES 93 Spinball demo and the full Multimedia Studio/Jurassic Park documentary. EDIT: NOW UPLOADED. Special thanks to KatKuriN and MDTravis for their research and assistance!

For what it's worth, I don't have a record player either, but I do have a record collection which I saved from a skip (the highlight being Trains in the Night. Because trains sound different in the dark??)

  4. What stuck out to me was this part of the interview.

It interests me that SoA's management saw their own games as shovelware.
