Trying to power through the writing that makes me wince just for scraps of lore... Are they implying Sonic's actions in Frontiers just completely destroyed Cyberspace and even the tower-databases from Rhea that gave us their whole story? I assumed all of that was intact and everyone just wanted to leave it alone for now (aside from Eggman's whole deal after the credits, but even then Crossworlds is assumedly brushing past that) It would suck because I think there's still more ground to be covered there, and this would be yet another case of the answer being more disappointing than the speculation.
I'm 100% certain that she was originally created as a new Robotnik (even her outfit is like a fusion between that of Eggman and that of Maria) for Frontiers, but was scrapped as the vision for the game was changed (presumably around the time when Kronos Island was split in half). So they were left with an unused character design that had already been teased to the public, and thought that they might as well dump her into the low-priority web series she was first shown in.
Huh! That's an interesting theory. I'm betting there will be more of her, though. I think she'll show up in the next game or at-least in the comics.
Sonic Battle introduced the Fourth Great Civilization, so it's neat to see them go back and explain some of the other Civilizations. The comedy dynamic of Tails having witnessed stuff but not being able to prove it was genuinely funny, so a big thumbs up for that. However, it's a bit disappointing after all the mystery surrounding Tori, this is her big reveal. I thought she'd play a key role in the next Sonic game or something.
Yeah, I really thought that she was going to be something akin to the Mystic Ruins explorers but was scrapped as they change direction and time was running out. But who knows, maybe since she was teased in the first TailsTube she was always meant to be a character that appears in these shorts to explain current, and in the future, new lore with Tails. The TailsTube was fun, it's just that expectations were high for her reveal so I know people were expecting way more with her.
Lots of games barely ever visibly age their female casts even when years pass in the story. Compare Kaoru in Yakuza 2 (age 25) to Kaoru in Yakuza 8 (age 42). I don't think you can judge age based on looks alone.
I figured she was gonna be a lore dump character that appears outside of the games and it looks like I was right, at least for the time being. I think these new Tails Tubes are going to basically cover the new timeline on the Japanese Sonic Channel site, or at least the ancient parts of it. Fans will continue to freak out about it as if it’s new info though.
That could actually be it. In fact, I don't think she is a "needed" character. Professor Pickle could play the role of a lore dumper instead of any new character. Although he wouldn't be so skeptical about Tails' claims.
That's the first thing that stood out to me, ngl. She sounds like Jessie from Pokémon. Not what I'd have expected at all. Hard disagree. It just made me dislike Tori. Tails is nothing if not a reliable source considering all of his adventures, and he's well acquainted with Tori's colleague Pickle. But all she could do was dismiss everything he had to say, despite also claiming to be a big fan of his? Doesn't really make sense. And as a gag, it wasn't funny either. Tori's a big disappointment so far. After all this time and she's a nothing burger. At least it seems like she could possibly be something of a villain character. But yeah, no. This was boring AF.
I was suspecting the new character might be a villain based on her expression alone. Guess I dodged the bullet after all. EDIT: For clarification, I was not one of those people who make thousands of theories about a character from the "new" "concept artwork" being shown in the first episode of TailsTube.

Yeah I really wasn't a fan of them setting up the dynamic of Tori not believing about sonic's adventures or whatever, it just feels like it's gonna be very predictable and boring everytime it comes up, I know they're trying to use these as ways to explain more of the lore but it just feels like they're scared to actually reveal anything meaningful as to not step on the toes of the games.
idk, I think her voice sounds great and a neat accent as well. And she could suit a good alternative voice for Rouge as well.
So, like, who even is she? I vaguely remember fans getting excited for some possible new character ages ago but never gave it any thought because there was nothing concrete about it, but now I can't remember when all that hubbub was.
What does it say on the chalkboard behind tails? It says "xxxxxx statue" and "xxxxx to island?" I'm guess the next one is going to take place in Mystic Ruins or Angel Island?
Im sure we will see her again and I actually think the voice was totally fine... but this specifically did fall flat for me. They wouldnt have gone to the trouble of actually having her voiced her if she wasnt going to appear again surely, not with all the teasing theyve done. Or like some other folks have said those plans have been scrapped and we are just salvaging what remains of the teasers
Idk what y'all were expecting from a character who has appeared like twice in random art and once as a name. "All the teasing" was like three small things spread out over multiple years. This seems like a pretty natural conclusion to that.
I think, for comedy's sake, Professor Tori's incredulity toward Tails's claims should've extended further, since she was there to basically cast doubt on all of Tails (and the player's) first hand experiences. "A blue hedgehog!? Ha! A likely story!" That said, I am still very happy to see a new human character introduced. I hope she is the first of many new faces!
