His Sonic Chronicles fanart was weird. He put some cyborg echidna into Shade's armor, which seems pretty redundant.

Had Ken actually cared about them he would gently help them with moving away from xhitter. Like seriously, that is the last friggin place people on the spectrum should browse. It mentally drains even perfectly healthy people.

I'm forever going to be near the front of the line to laugh at Ken and I would not be surprised if he is just using autistic folk as a crutch for his own vanity, but I don't think it's Ken's responsibility to shepherd autistic folk away from Twitter, not least because I don't think he's equipped to handle it. I don't know if Ken has any personal experience of autism, either in himself or his family, but if he doesn't then I would not expect him to then have any clue how to navigate something like that - I sure as hell don't. If what he's saying is true, then it sounds like he's trying to make the best choice he can in a bad situation.

 

Yeah I don't actually want him near autistic people at all. The last time he even brought up the subject was reaching for a reason why people criticized him and comparing them to Trump supporters (yes, really), somehow just sidestepping the demography of all of these groups to find ANY scapegoat to get away from admitting that he just kinda sucks.

 

All I'm saying is that if I were in Ken's shoes and received an email that went, paraphrasing: "Hi! Please don't leave twitter. I'm stuck in here due to my autism." I would in my reply show at least some slight concern about what kind of effect that hellsite must have on autistic people.

 

Regardless, it should still be backed up.

it's amazing how Penders' version looks so much worse.
there's something deeply unsettling about his unique style, the borderline anatomically correct anthropomorphism makes my skin crawl.
it's the similar feeling I get when I look at explicitly satanic artwork, honestly.

 

Ken is committing the cardinal mistake of applying human proportions on noodle-limbed animals. That's why all his Sonic art looks so uncanny and bizarre. Ken studied human anatomy for drawing, and now he's trying to apply it on the absolutely wrong type of characters. For example, his Star Trek fanart looks fine, mostly.

 

He drew for the official Star Trek comics, most of what you've seen probably isn't fan art. It's easily his most professional work, and does a good job justifying why Archie would ever have hired him in the first place.
