Sonic the Hedgehog Cinematic Universe Thread (& Knuckles)

It feels so strange somehow.

But I guess here we are. And this new generation is probably going to keep this series alive for at least a bit yet.

Which warms my somewhat jaded heart.

I think Sonic 3 has "formative for kids" written all over it.

Waiting for those video essays 10-15 years from now saying how Sonic movie 3 got them really invested in the series.

 

Sonic has to remain cool long enough so that my son can wear this once he grows into it.

Patiently awaiting Disney's announcement of Mufasa 2: 2Fasa2Furious

 

I think they should split Sonic 4 into a trilogy of episodes and then never make the third episode after ending the second one on a cliffhanger

 

With another Godzilla movie releasing the week after the 19th. It would be funny if that DC movie is another Harley Quinn project.

Though I guess it could be The Batman 2? Or Sgt. Rock/Clayface?

It's pretty cool Sonic has three spots in the top 10. Also it's wild they haven't made another Pokémon movie after Detective Pikachu. Make a tournament movie or Substitute Teacher Charizard or something.

 

Damn, the Mario Movie made more than all three Sonic movies combined?

 

I dunno if you heard but this Mario fella is pretty damn popular. Still, having Sonic show up in this list thrice is promising. Don't think they'll keep up that momentum for 4, but it'd be nice.

 

I posted this a couple of pages ago, but a big chunk of Mario's revenue came from the international markets. That's what really took it to another level.

And Sega really needs to focus on increasing Sonic's presence in those markets now that the Paramount movies gave them a way in.

Maybe one day one his movies can reach those numbers by itself if they play their cards right.

Bring Christian Whitehead on to consult the third episode before abruptly shutting down the studio that makes the movies, only to have Christian hack together the best parts of the first three Sonic movies into a new-ish one

If it's surrounded by big releases, guess we'll see another test of the franchise's strength.

Mario movie was nice in that it was a reference making machine but as a movie it really doesn’t hold up very well. I enjoyed watching it but can’t say I want to do so again

 

Looks super boring compared to 2 and 3's. The previous logos had fun gimmicks, like the 2 in Sonic 2 having Tails' tails, and 3 using a half red/blue colour scheme and recreating the SA2 logo.

I hope this is an early version, because there's nothing that pops about it at all.
