Sonic the Hedgehog Cinematic Universe Thread (& Knuckles)

Are we sure that the spacecraft the Eclipse Cannon is attached to is even supposed to be the ARK, though? Because to me, it looks far more like E.G.G. Station Zone, specifically the finished versions you briefly see in Sonic 4 Episode 2:

 

Yeah, I think it's because of just how iconic and huge the original version is that it's hard not to compare.

I'm assuming that this version belongs to Gerald, so looking healthcare like makes sense if they keep its original purpose as well for the movie and then it was tweaked to adding the cannon.

But I do wish that they would move on from the white sterile look for Eggman's tech.

 

I do not like the implication that Jigglypuff is a thing in the Sonic universe now.

 

The Fearless Year of Shadow keeps on trucking, baby. Maybe one day you’ll get a Year of Little Planet or Flicky or something

 

I mean, we're not obligated to see it just because we're Sonic fans, bro. I don't usually watch these kinds of movies anymore and I don't have any kids yet so there isn't really a draw for me either. I thought the first one was cute and inoffensive but didn't bother with the second until I saw the fan reaction hyping it up. I saw it and hated it. Keanu Reeves as Shadow fits surprisingly well but nothing else about these trailers has looked remotely appealing to me so I'm also gonna pass on this.

No skin off my back, we're not the target audience. Literally nobody cares what 30 year old Sonic fans think about these movies.

 

Despite how obviously you're kidding... considering what they've done with rings in this continuity, imagine if Tails made a fake one as a trap. One that, if someone like Shadow were to snag or catch, would go off in a small explosion.

A dummy ring bomb, if you would.

Maybe unpopular opinion but it bothers me that the Death Egg, Ark/canon and Technodrome too are basically copies of the Death Star so I’m glad the movie version has a unique design.

It’s something I never gave a second thought to growing up but now it’s like...oh it quite literally is just the Death Star with a face. It lessens it’s appeal imo knowing it’s a straight up parody.

They’re still cool and all but I wish they were their own things.

 

I totally understand why they'd want the station to look less like a pop culture icon from an another franchise.

However, it'd be completely undermined by a finale where two Super Sayians blow it up.

I'd unironically love this to bits and would never ask anything from this franchise again.

 

Sadly The Year of Little Planet was in 2012 when Sonic 4 Episode 2 came out.

But hey if they do it again maybe they'll have an excuse to finish Episode 3.

 

So Regal theatres are selling Sonic Funko Pops for Sonic 3... Why is Cream here.

The SA2 ones I recognize as being pretty new, and I think Cream is new too since they've been dipping into the side characters. Really the only old ones are the regular Sonic and Tails.

 

Cream and Cheese are sealed inside the Cannon's Core for this movie.

They're desperate for a big hit, so they're going all in on marketing.

It might actually work.

 

I'm willing to bet that Funko's just trying to get rid of unwanted stock, much like what happened with Colors Ultimate's Baby Sonic keychains. I have a hard time believing that Cream the Rabbit merchandise is in high demand.

Maybe they thought that Cheese being a Chao is a good enough excuse to dump those figurines into this movie's promotion.

 

Is that part of His World playing through the second half of the trailer?
