Sonic X Shadow Generations thread, movie level out now

They must love spreading spoilers/leaks without consequences, don't they?

 

Well, I think we need a new spoiler / leak thread already, just like Frontiers had one, I've seen already some images.

 

We're so close to release I honestly don't see a point to it. Frontiers had leaks years ahead of it's release due to it's delayed nature and huge scope. Meanwhile we're about 2 weeks away from Shadow Gens' release so yeah some early copies are going to slip out there in the coming days, happens with every game.

Do you mean no point in a spoiler thread? There's always a point to having them. It's just courteous in a community such as this to give people that safe buffer.

 

A spoilers thread would be worthwhile, I was just speaking in context of leaks, which I didn't think would be needed for a game set to release in 2 weeks.
In other news a 2nd manga has hit the marketing

Set to release October 18th.

The game also comes out earlier for people who pre-ordered the good boy version so that's something to consider.

I don't want to associate with the riff raffs and use spoiler tags.

 

The sooner we have a spoiler thread, the better. The Switch ROM will definely leak anyway.

 

Also the PS4 version which i think will be ignored in such comparisons , my friend is curios about it

 

does the good boy version have any other bonuses besides earlier access?

Now featuring the drop dash.

 

despite how useless the drop dash is for modern Sonic, I still love that they included it anyways. More movement options is always a good thing in my book.

 

I'd like the drop dash a bit more if you didn't have to jump dash before doing it, since the jump dash kills your momentum, while the drop dash is meant to perserve it. I assume a mod will come out after release to fix that.

 

I hate that. The generations air dash sucks, but it has some use for getting a bit more lateral distance. The drop dash, on the other hand, is something I want to land precisely and push forward with. So I'm going to not find any good time to use the drop dash, but the times I use the air dash will then be filled with paranoia about accidentally drop dashing off the edge of whatever I'm trying to land on. I have no idea why they bothered altering the controls to be more Frontiersy when it ends up recreating the problem Frontiers was solving -- imprecise or crowded inputs on the same buttons.

 

The problem would be fixed, at least for the new control settings, if the Jump Dash was on the Homing Attack button, since they're both "boost forward in the air" actions. Then the Jump button would be free for Drop Dashing.

Legacy controls get stuffed though

 

What a surprise, the Drop Dash being completely useless. Again. Remind me why they introduced that move. I never used it in Mania, I only used it that one time it was required in Forces, and even with Frontiers' nerfed to hell boost I absolutely never used it there either. And that was before the spin dash was added. Afterwards? I wouldn't blame you if you actually forgot it was even in the game. Of course, it's not like I'm actually gonna be playing through the Sonic campaign.

 

None of us would ever forget it.

It's pretty neat. Though, naturally useless for Modern Sonic both in the way they implemented it and in general for that gameplay style.
