Let's do both. Make it so Chao, Chaos, the Black Arms, and Wisps all share common ancestry in the Ancients.

Look, it's a baby Black Arms!

I was expecting Sonic Forces stages, but I was NOT expecting Sonic Frontiers islands as stages. This is a really interesting to do; this game is doing way more things than I were expecting. I'm glad it looks really polisahed judging from what I saw in the trailer.

And God, that Supporting Me remix is fucking amazing. SEGA, post the whole thing already, I need it.

Wow, I gotta admit Shadow Gens is shaping up to be much bigger than I thought it'd be. Packaged with Sonic Gens, the whole thing might actually turn out to be quite the meaty package.

From what I've seen, despite it being said it's gonna be shorter than Sonic Generations, I can easily see this placing in my top 5, if not 3, favorite Sonic games. I'm already liking it more than Black Knight and Frontiers, but I'm not quite convinced yet it'll top HD Unleashed. Question is, though, will it top Rise of Lyric? Well, no use thinking about it now, that's a bridge I'll cross when I reach it. And that bridge isn't coming for another 2 months.

Definitely will be a nice treat for new fans introduced to the series through the movies. Generations alone is a great game and the Shadow portion is shaping up to be legit

Yeah, if Shadow Generations is as good as it looks, I'm almost jealous of people who haven't played Sonic Generations before because this is looking like a good deal.
    Perfect. Print it. TenOuttaTen.

Imagine RCS trying his best to do a Sonic Heroes Metal impression.

Come on, let's not pretend that's difficult. Ryan Drummond just did his Sonic voice in monotone while all the heavy lifting was done by post-processing effects. Nothing more than that is needed.

Actually that wasn't post-processing effects, Ryan Drummond made all those sounds himself

I'm not talking about the effort required, just wondering how it will sound like.

No, you're thinking about Sean Schemmel's Black Doom...

My apologies, I misinterpreted your post as trying to knock RCS as being incapable of doing such a voice.

Also is it just me or does the Doom Blast cutscene look stretched out?

I feel like we got a similar problem to that cutscene just before the Giganto fight from Frontiers.
Looks more natural if I squish it to 80% the width.

  18. You know, at this point, it almost looks like a Shadow game with a Gens remaster attached to it.

I think that's what it is, honestly. Certainly how we're perceiving it and how it's being marketed. The idea of it being the other way round likely only persists through naming conventions and Generations coming first.

Something else I've been thinking about is that, with the Forces and Frontiers stages, Shadow Generations also serves nicely as a kind of Generations 2 that everyone's been clamouring for since 2012 for some reason. Sure, it's lacking in the classic department, but it takes a second pass at already represented games and gives some love to what the series has given us since then. It is a bit odd that this story that's meant to be concurrent with the original Generations will see Shadow thrown into the future, but it can work so long as it's contextualised intelligently, which I trust Ian to do.

    OR
Sonic Mania and Forces had enough reused Classic shit for a Generations sequel on their own. At least a lot of what this game brings is stuff we weren't necessarily expecting.

It is hilarious though that this game still didn't manage to escape the Generations "more cities than necessary" problem
