Sonic Superstars: A New 2D Sonic Game (Fall 2023)

Yep, I've at least figured that much, but I just keep ramming forward and making the rocks disappear and abruptly lose any control as another just flies right into me. Maybe I should look up the solution; I do love this game but I am ready to finish it by now and not come back to it for a long time after this.

 

You have to just tap the button and immediately release it, otherwise the next meteor won't be targetable. This part was really confusing to me too.

 

Don't want to do all, haven't seen them online yet and don't want to be hit with a copyright claim. But it's pretty easy to do (if I can, anyone can). The files are in "Sonic Superstars\image\x64\raw\dlc\artbook\ui\rpl_texture_art\artbook_img". Search online for a DDS to PNG converter. There are a number of free options/sites.

 

So I've been told there is a Nights robot skin set if you collect all rings in a bonus stage, but I am damn near pulling my hair out trying to do it. Is there a way to get the game to give me an easier bonus stage? I go to bridge island with 50 rings in hand, yet I still get a fairly difficult stage, yet I see youtubers getting really easy ones. Is the game giving me harder ones because I already beat the game? Do I need to restart on a new save file?

So yea, started a new file, got it on my first try on the basic stage. Heck, I even perfected the second one as well, and missed by 1 on a third. So what's the deal game!? Does this mean I need to essentially re-beat the entire game? Yup! The parts do not carry over between save files. And why is there no copy option for saves? Ughhh...

So deciding I didn't want to beat the game and grind more coins, I tried my main save again. I just kept trying to beat each stage, trying to get new ones. They kept getting harder and harder, until it looped back to the easy ones again. So maybe they just full rotate like the Mania bonus stages? But the huge range in difficulty makes me think it should have been balanced by number of rings plus the stage you are on or something.

 

My import of the Asian Limited Edition arrived.

Pretty nice box and Sonic print. Judging from other videos of it online it looks like the signatures are all identical so are printed or autopenned. I ordered it thinking they would be hand signed.

Oh well not the end of the world but figured I'd put this out there for anyone wondering.

Here is how the sega website worded it, I assumed the artwork was a reproduction, not the signature.

Sega's doing some Superstars cross-promotion with Roblox: if you purchase certain denominations of Robux via Amazon, you'll get one of four backpack items to wear in the latter game.

Frankly, some of these denominations are absurd - especially Sonic's, which requires a minimum of $125.

 

A patch has been released on Steam. Epic login no longer required for cross-platform online.

 

Yeah, I noticed because I booted the game up, and my music mods weren't there anymore. So "Bank900" (the main sound bank for the game's music) might have had something changed. None of the others were re-downloaded on my end. But I guess it might also just be because my Bank900 was different than expected.

Also the patch notes end with, "Stay tuned to this space for future updates."

 

Ha. Maybe I'll actually give Battle Mode and the bot parts a look now.

 

Now can we just get them to get rid of Denuvo from all their other older titles, dang it?

 

They didn't just remove the Epic online requirement. They straight-up nuked everything associated with it.

 

Guess I'll be buying it now. $60 is a little steep, but the EGS force requirement out of nowhere was the main culprit for me skipping out.

However, i had a glitch at this part that confused me cause i was doing everything right, hearing the chime sound and all, yet the game just refused to put the lock on target for the next meteor, leading me to just lose out of no mistake of mine

So yeah could be something similar happening for all i know

Weird. I guess there weren't that many people buying on Epic? Does that mean Epic users can't play with Steam users?

 

I assume it's because Epic login was breaking Steam Deck/Linux compatibility with online modes.

 

Yep. All it means is that you no longer need an Epic account to play cross-platform online.
