Something funny I noticed in the Audio Description version of the Trio of Trouble video is at 0:46 when Knuckles deflects the missiles it bounces off of Fang and hits the pillar. However in the Audio Description they say something different then what happens on screen. On screen the missile bounces off Fang and hits the collumn followed by Sonic and Co. putting their hands together then splitting up, appearing as targets on Fang's ship while he is still in the air.

    But the Audio Description says...

"Knuckles hits the missile. It hits Fang and Knocks the Marvelous Queen out of the air. The hero's cheer then split up. A missile explodes. The heroes appear as targets on..."

It seems that the Audio Description is running off of an earlier version of the video?
Maybe reading off of the original story board / script for the video?

I don't know about anyone else but I couldn't enjoy the animation because I spent the whole time thinking "why is Fang in a vehicle and Eggman walking?"

    Working on my art!
For some reason it seems like Fang is more attached to the marvelous queen than Eggman is to his Eggmobile. Comics and such have interpreted it this way too. He’s like always on the thing. Why? No idea. But I loved Eggman in the explorer hat, totally get that teddy Roosevelt vibe he was based off when he wears that.

New Sonic Station video dropped - shows off some more of the Switch version of the game, including a full playthrough of Pinball Carnival Zone Act 1 with Sonic & Tails, and our first full gameplay of the VS. mode (including our first proper look at the new Metal Tails and Metal Amy designs!).

Pinball Carnival Zone looks just so great. The background changes a lot which creates the impression of an actual location you can visit. It's inviting! Hopefully, the other stages can evoke this sense as well. Anticipation is rising.

yeah like, I've put hundreds of hours into FFXIV and that game has your protagonist do the exact same thing - talking mutely, so I am extremely used to it by now.

If Bridge Island reminds me of Sonic CD, Pinball Carnival (or the path the casters wound up in, anyway) is reminiscent of the best in S3&K. The set piece at the end with the falling platform in which yu have t kind zigzag upwards through looks super entertaining, especially as the casters seemed to be constantly debating what they should do. I love it! It must be cl for players to help each other out like that, even if that simply means surviving in a situation like that.

(It also makes me feel even more that the game must be much more fun if yu are not that good. Figuring things out together is much cooler)

I appreciate they are using more than bumpers sound effect from Sonic 1 (and it's nice they are using sound effect from Casino Night from Sonic 2).

The level design in Pinvall Carnival Zone Act 1 looks great. Actually forgot the game were running on a Switch for a second, because it actually looks decent? Anyway, I loved it! I apparently, we kinda heard Pinball Carnival Act 2 theme for a little.

Here's another video featuring Bridge Island Zone, with its updated music. We also see how the Special Stage works in multiplayer. Each player can take three swings before the game switches to the next player, and so on. The characters have also gained a sweet looking trail, and the text is now capitalized. Timestamp @ 28:30. The video also features a real-time translator that's desperately trying to hear everything they're saying, and failing miserably because they're all talking over each other.

Man, that is one depressing looking results screen.

EDIT: And as if God himself were listening, suddenly, soundtrack upload!

That Speed Jungle mix is very interesting as it seems to confirm something I'd been hoping for - that 'extra' character-specific Acts will have their own unique music tracks!

The mix starts off with Tee Lopes' now-familiar Act 1 theme, and ends on Hidenori Shoji's Act 2 theme that we'd previously heard in off-screen footage - however, sandwiched in the middle is a third theme composed by Takahiro Kai! This is presumably the theme for Act Sonic, which was mentioned in at least one previous article on the game (I think the GameInformer article, but am unable to double-check at the mo, so please correct me if I'm wrong on that one!).

I really think part 1 (Tee Lopes' track) FAR outshines the other parts of this mix. The variation in that first minute is just awesome.

Kinda bums me out that it seems like we won't get a proper act 2 version of that track.

Slice of life visual novel, coming soon...?
Holy shit. And people were worried about the soundtrack, lol

  16. I feel like having multiple composers is gonna make for a very mixed experience with the OST. Tee Lopes feels like he's gonna have the best tracks compared to everyone else.

Love Tee but Takahiro Kai owned the Speed Jungle mix for me.

You forget to change the default Casio settings 2 times and people never forgive you for it.

I think an OST needs a good variety of vibes. Tee Lopes writes very complex pieces, but something more lowkey can really round out the mood.

Also, I had no idea that the battle mode would be so in-depth! We're basically getting a custom OC maker like in Forces, but for Metal Sonics.

...huh. Now that I'm saying it, it would be weird if Metal Sonic isn't a Sonic costume in single player. He totally is, right?

  19. I’m surprised mostly everyone is praising Tee’s work over the others on this. I liked it but I think it was the weakest of the three. I was just listening like, “Yup, that’s Tee,” without the excitement I got from things like Studiopolis. The other tracks were far more interesting to me.

Of the three in that video I think it's the best, but it could be better.

To be honest what distracted me most in that video is Knuckles' lack of expression. Sonic looks annoyed when he's forced to wait around, but Knuckles stares into the middle distance, permanently happy, despite most media (including the promotional animation they released just hours ago) portraying him as the grumpier one.

I mean granted they all look a bit oblivious - we've unlearned the "look at nearby enemies and items" lesson of Sonic Adventure, but we grew out of that dopey look in the mid-90s.
