So tracker got the game and was streaming it, he got to Sonic CD's ending and... the animation plays at double or triple the speed.

It IS all his fault, and it IS crap.
If for some bizarre reason i wanted to play in 4:3, I'd just dig out the auld Mega Drive. Who honestly gave a shit and thought "ooh, that's good" when they announced Classic mode?

I imagine this didnt happen for you when you played it? That sounds hilarious, but im curious if its some sort of pre release playback bug on a specific version or if its just something that happened by chance

Replay speed on the ending seems like it’s always varied between appearances hasn’t it?

if it’s still synced to Cosmic Eternity it’s good enough imo

Since no one here except Stealth actually worked on the game no one probably not even Stealth, even knows the full story on how the music got to be what it is so I'm telling you to stop being so livid about this situation, pointing fingers and take a breather for once.

To be completely fair, we were told Jun would be remastering those songs. The blame does most likely fall to him for subpar quality.

There is also no shot that only stealth worked on the 3&K remaster, i'm sure whoever else he's had as part of headcanon worked on it too, but I get what you mean I suppose. Im sure there wasn't much stealth could do to help in the music regard once SEGA had Jun work on the tracks instead

I didn't get that far. Having only a limited time to finish the video review, I had to pick and choose what I did/didn't finish. CD's ending was something I've not yet seen.

Curiously, RedHotSonic on twitter said his ending played fine so... not sure what's going on there.

That's what people said about Mania and we got an extensive patch, DLC and free YouTube shorts out of that. Hell, people said we'd never get the mobile ports on modern platforms or a Sonic 3 remaster at all. No need to be this pessimistic.

  9. That's only after Mania was an explosive mainstream success. We can't rely on sales this time.

Slice of life visual novel, coming soon...?
Can't help but feel you're just proving his point with messages like these lol, chill out. It's 3 mediocre tracks in a game compilation, you'll be fine

Well sure, and I don't expect Origins to be on the same level of success, but fearing the game will get no updates at all seems a bit over the top to me, aye?

That’ll be tier 6 of their upcoming DLC for this game. “For an extra tenner, we’ll enable widescreen so that now you can also play the games how they’re meant to be played

I'm wondering when this releases on Steam. I'm on Central timezone, and everything on websites claims midnight tonight PT so that might be 1-2AM for me.

Went to watch the Sonic CD ending, and it doesn't have the sound effects from the original, with Cosmic Eternity starting at the same time as the cutscene. What's up with that?

At any rate, can we kill the "SEGA didn't put any effort in" talk? Not only did they trust Stealth's judgement to pick out fresh blood to work on the Sonic 3 remaster, they did the islands internally, they worked with fans to upscale the Sonic CD animation to give us the best version we'll ever get (unless by some miracle all the cels can be recovered) in addition to creating wholly new animations for each game and they did create the new missions in-house. If you're turned off by aspects of this release, that's fine, I'm not happy about the music situation, but get some perspective. Gathered here are probably the most die-hard Sonic fans of all time. We are of course very particular about what we want and that does come from a place a love, but even those now working at SEGA may not be aware of certain minutia within this series and that's honestly reasonable, it's been 30 years and they have better things to do with their lives. Just because something is not to our exacting standards does not by any stretch of the imagination void what we have gotten. It's frankly rude to suggest as such and betrays a startling ignorance of the development industry.

Watched the Sonic Stadium's footage of blue spheres and the music doesn't speed up.

Like the actual arrangements for the Sonic 3 proto tracks aren't bad, really, and IMO they're pretty similar to what we got in Sonic 3 Complete, but I cannot abide with how they were rendered.

honestly the music speeding up to this day gives me unbelievable stress and fear when playing Blue Spheres so maybe that's for the best

But is it really the true blue sphere experience without some anxiety ? :V
It's kinda part of the charm imo

That’s an essential part of the experience

… okay but Unironically it might actually be the most successfully a combination of gameplay and music have come together to make me feel something I might not have with just one or the other.

Lots of people overreacting quite a bit I see, lol.
It's disappointing but I don't really see it as a dealbreaker myself, I'm still picking up the game tomorrow. It sure is very disappointing, but again, it's only 3 levels. Calm down.
