First thing that struck me is that circus zone is probably the most generic name for a zone I've heard in a while... How about 'Acrobatic Chaos Zone' or something?
Circus Zone is a mite too generic a cliché. What about combining established themes? Floating Fairground and Cloud Carnival. Two alliterative names to show what I mean.
Once all the concept art is up for this zone I think it will be more obvious as to how it will be less cliché. I had totally forgotten about the whole idea to add a roller coaster theme to this level untill I looked back through the work, hopefully that should help towards making it more interesting by increasing the pace more then you would expect from the classic carnival themed sonic levels.
Hmm, I like it! I like it a lot! Robotnik Circus Zone was also a name I thought of a while ago. (PC2's idea for Robotnikland reminded me of it.)
I don't know what the reaction to this is gonna be, but every time I see this stage Daft Punk's - Crescendolls plays in my head. I think something like this would go perfect with this stage. If you've never heard it before don't listen too long as it's quite repetitive and may impure some creative flow (that's what happens to me anyways).
