Yes, which would explain the sudden awarding of a green square to him. =)

I can clear that up for you.

The 2203 has TWO SSG-EG sections. $00-$0F is register compatible with a YM2149 and performs the same functions. So, basically, the 2203 has three FM channels, PLUS 3 YM2149 channels and a noise generator. This part does not exist in the YM2612.

The other SSG-EG section is for the FM channels, and it's function is to enable SSG type envelope control upon the FM channels. That's the part mapped to $90+. This is present in the YM2612 but doesn't always perform exactly as it should.

    Whatever catches my fancy
Yeah, that's what I suspected, but the 2203 datasheet didn't give me enough info to tell.

I was pretty sure that the 2612 didn't have $00-$0F though since it doesn't have the whole I/O bus thing.

Off-topic again I know and I'm sorry, but I'd just like to say thanks for your emulator and that I'm a fan of your work.

Not sure if anyone asked you this before, but has Sega or any representatives asked you to do something new recently for them?

Genecyst is for DOS, which gets direct hardware access, and so can set it's colors exactly. Windows/DirectX/Some windows video card drivers have some wierd brightness "correction" settings that alter the colors it's programs want to display

I wonder if there is a way to turn that off, but I've never heard of that before either.
