This is a neat program, but works extremely weirdly with dual monitors. It's like it's only picking up my primary monitor, but putting the data on it starting on the left-most monitor (the smaller secondary one) o_O
I need to investigate that, I think I'm doing something that I shouldn't regarding sonic's coordinates relative to the screen bounds. Anyway, video is up. I am attempting to hook window creation and destroying events and it's failing horribly. The hook doesn't seem to work outside of the routine it's started in.
By Creating and destroying, events, do you mean Sonic jumps/spins into the X button and/or icons? Can't do anything else while running. Sonic responds fine. If it matters, I'm running WinXP SP3. By horizontal lines, I mean well, Sonic being able to run on the divisions between posts on this board or maybe even shit like this: ______________ _______________________________
It crashes on startup, however, it doesn't give me any error report (and yes, I have installed every possible .NET framework version).
No, getting that to work would be very difficult. I mean when the OS creates and destroys windows, so I won't have to get the whole list of windows every frame. And if you click on something, it doesn't work? That is really weird. No.
I believe I have resolved this issue by adding the upper left coordinate of the screens to all the drawing commands, so that -480 on the desktop becomes 0 on the form if you have a screen at -480y.
This is really neat and fun, only it lags terribly on my laptop and makes it run slower till I quit. I also like how the images of Sonic are external so I can change to something else...
It starts but it doesn' overlap Windows, instead I get a purple screen with Sonic falling down onto it. I can move him around and place him on stuff, but I can't see anything but him. Really hope this can get fixed... EDIT: Dur Hur Hur, didn't see that on the front page, my mistake. :P
You can turn off sound effects if it's bugging you :P Also, I added an option for Sonic to use randomized controls instead of listening to the keyboard. So now you can just have him run around randomly.
This...is... AWESOME. So much win. :D Sonic jumps every time I hit space while typing here!!! It would be even more epic if Sonic could interact with the Sonic Retro site in some way...but its still awesome nonetheless! EDIT: Crap I threw sonic too far up... and now I can't see him?!
Alright if you can add in any more moves, how about you try to put in the Insta-shield? Also, a skin for Tails with flying ability and a skin for Knuckles with Gliding and Climbing would be pretty sweet too! This is one of the greatest things ever, by the way.
Insta-shield is useless if there's nothing to attack. :v: I was considering adding Tails' and Knuckles' special abilities, but then I'd have to implement the physics for them and I'd have to set up the animations for the characters.
No waiting pose because I couldn't quite figure out what order the sprites go in :S. They aren't stored together at all. And I'm torn between trying to implement this stuff and trying to implement objects, so you can put springs and monitors etc.
Do whatever you want. Beggers can't be choosers. :P EDIT: Oh and the "pause" feature is VERY handy when it comes to doing other things...
Because Sonic 3's sprites are hideous. http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/8/26/138...WindowsZone.rar (All sprites replaced with Sonic 1 ones.) I must say though, this is pretty cool.
I know you already said no, but if you added Tails and Knuckles I'd love you :3 This is pretty cool. Pretty useless, but pretty cool. I also love how every time I hit space while writing this message Sonic jumps about like crazy.
P.P.A.: You could have just uploaded an INI and sprite folder instead of uploading a whole copy of the program.
