Why Gloves?

The gloves are very special, but only appear in "weird mode". If you eat it, you will get lots of points!! With enough points, you will get an extra life.


Sonic wears gloves, because think about it. Bugs bunny wears gloves, Mickey Mouse wears gloves. Most popular animal-human characters wear gloves. If they don't wear gloves, then they will usually have different colored hands.

They do this because it looks good. If sonic just had blue hands without gloves, it would look ugly.

 

Heran_Bago has a good point, but he takes it too literally. Gloves just make them look more sophisticated. Winnie the Pooh and co. don't have gloves, yet look at them. Just about all the characters in the DK series don't have gloves, but instead have other human clothing, like ties and hats and walking canes.

Muffin_man doesn't really know why he's speaking in third tense.

 

They all wear gloves, but when was the last time that one of them wore pants?

I agree, the characters would just look completely...wrong without gloves. Honestly I think they'd all look butt ugly with colored hands. I don't know why. Rika pretty much nailed what I'm trying to say.

When it comes down to it, it's just a part of the characters. It makes them all the more identifiable and distinctive. It adds to their character somehow.

 

I, of course, meant the male characters, because female characters are "expected" to wear clothes.

Gloves mean the developers didn't have to fiddle about with fingers. Like why Mario has a mustache and cap, hair is too complex.

Does Knuckles have fingers? Who knows? Who cares? What about shoes and socks? The mind boggles x_x

One of these days, a parent group is going to use that as an argument to ban games of this type.

Maybe none of the male Sonic characters have worn pants, but obviously, Sonic has worn a skirt... XD

Oh wait, Sonic DID wear pants in episode #16 of Sonic Underground, entitled "Artifact". Come to think, Manic was wearing pants too. They were dressed as waiters. *brick'd*

 

I hope that info is correct because it would be awesome.

actually I think donald duck did get banned for that reason XD;

honestly I don't like the bird characters wearing gloves considering they should have WINGS and not HANDS, but yo, that's not my decision. =P

Imagine being forced to wear gloves 24-7, and they must be white. That will do serious damage to your health.
