Perhaps, if still available, Mitsuhiro Tada. The music from the OVA seemed like it could work effectively in a game.

And if nothing else, get Dreams Come True so that we could legally have the Sonic theme from Sonic 1+2 in a game again.

If it was up to me, I'd get the people (person?) who did the Sonic Xtreme soundtrack. I love nearly all the tracks on it. Personal favourites include Streets of Gold, Iron Program, Borealis and Cyro Genesis. Shame it hasn't been used for anything else that I've seen.

Jun Senoue or Motoi Sakuraba. MAYBE Crush40 for the epic-final-battle-Super-Sonic-only-in-space-music-theme.

Part of Team Megamix, but haven't done any actual work in ages.
    Hmm...

If you want people that had involvement in older Sonic games, I'd definitely vote for Naofumi Hataya and Yûzô Koshiro.
If you want someone new, maybe Shunsuke Kikuchi (did the japanese soundtrack to Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z)? I don't really know.

Or you could screw them all over and have Dustin Wyatt do the soundtrack =P

  6. You know, I thought I was the only one who believed Damon Albarn can do a Video Game soundtrack. It's cool to see someone who has the same views. He does make some fantastic instrumentals in my opinion.

As for choosing the people I would like to make the Sonic 4 Soundtrack: Naofumi Hataya, Masato Nakamura, Richard Vasquez or Spencer Nilsen.

I'd pick Richard Jacques, as long as none of his tracks have vocals. Also, nothing that sounds remotely like Spring Stadium Act 2.

    MIDI-to-SMPS-conversions, mostly. Takin' requests, too.
Hideaki Kobayashi. Well, as far as bosses are concerned, anyhow. c:

Seriously... whoever said Linkin Park. Up your ass! Why do their fans think their music goes with absolutely everything?

Justin Timberlake would be a logical step I guess, going from a black guy who wants to be white to a white guy who wants to be black kinda takes things full circle. Shame his music sucks.

*ahem* Now seriously... If Nakamura and Hataya could sit down for a pie and discuss things that would be magic!

Exactly. They fucking suck. Just a whiny bunch of bitches, just like what Green Day became.

Green Day isn't anywhere close to the abortion Linkin Park is, chiefly because Green Day hasn't sunk into the abyssal genre of rap metal. Sonic music, on the other hand, hasn't fared so well.

My favorite Sonic soundtrack in recent years is Rush, but having that type of music in a "classic" styled game would seem terribly out-of-place, so I'm not really sure who I'd pick.

They're both on the level of the Jonas brothers at this point.

Correct. Instead, they sunk into whiny, dry, political bitchcore.

Also, that's Zebrahead's worst song. It's unfortunate such a good band is tainted by that one song.
Furthermore, that's only one song in that game. Look at the rest of Sonic 06's soundtrack and tell me it's not absolutely beautiful.

The rest of Sonic 06's soundtrack is pretty forgettable to me, sorry, though this may be because I never bothered to play the game and have no intention of changing that.

(Also, I'm not saying Green Day's good, I'm just saying that they're a slightly less odorous shade of shit)

    Hahaha yes!

I'm surprised noones brought up the fact that OCR is like seriously lobbying SEGA to do the soundtrack.

I don't want them anywhere near the soundtrack at all. Maybe a remix album, sure, but not the official soundtrack. SEGA probably has it done by now anyway.
