Who Created the Zones anyway?

Wow, my last couple of posts have been really weird. I should probably take my meds now.

 

I figure Zones are the Mobian equivalent of boroughs and counties when used in the context of politically-recognized territories (like Spring Yard and Metropolis), and sometimes for ruins and national parks. In some cases, new features prompt people to rename zones retroactively, such as Oil Ocean post-pollution. Heck, it might even be a tradition spanning centuries, as even the denizens of Floating Island apparently used that system.

Still, this idea breaks down when confronted with such examples as "Sky Chase Zone", "Flying Battery Zone", and other zones that encompass only moving vehicles or intangible events. Maybe Sonic is just so used to the naming convention that he actually makes up names for each new place he visits, even the places that can't be "zoned."

What in the name of fuck, happened to the Super Emeralds.....
I theorise, that Sonic "sealed them in another dimension with the power of the Chaos Emeralds and Master Emerald, after Doomsday Zone"
