    Sonic 1 pre-release would be very helpful for me as a programmer. It has the second debug mode in it. I haven't played Sonic Jam for Saturn yet. I have heard a lot from it and it sounds interesting.

    What do you select above, and why?

    Sonic 1 Pre release because there is so much beta data and mag scans that make it look very interesting.

    Someone who got Sonic Jam could explain this better.

    Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 in Sonic Jam for Saturn are much more complete. Sonic 1 has an easy mode (I just say :wtf: ) and I believe the same for Sonic 2. Easy mode has rings in Final Zone (Sonic 1) and maybe Death Egg (Sonic 2).

    The biggest thing is the spin dash ( :wtf: again) that exists in Sonic 1!

    I want to see screen shots, palette differences, object layout differences, and bug fixes in both Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 for Sonic Jam which seems to be using the same engine for both ( :wtf: )

    If I recall, thier was Easy, Normal, and Time Attack. Not sure about hard.

    We have Sonic 1 Japanese ver 1, and we have Sonic 2 Japanese ver 2, but we don't have "version 2 of Sonic 1 Japanese".

    According to PACHuka, if the spindash in Sonic 1 is turned on, the spike bug will not appear.

    That must mean that Sonic 1 with spindash on uses Sonic 2's sonic object.

    Putting the Sonic 2 object into Sonic 1 is almost impossible today. And the spindash must use special patterns. I don't even think it's room left for the spindash gfx, but I'm not sure.

    This is impossible in every Sonic 1 ROM we can get. Sonic isn't dying when standing on the spikes. Only Sonic 1 Japanese version 2 and Sonic 1 with spindash turned on in Sonic Jam will give this result:

    And about Sonic Jam, all the games were re programmed so they fixed the bugs and added spindash in Sonic 1. Converting it to a ROM would be near impossible. Also, in Sonic Jam the SFX sound different because they are recordings of the original SFX in a format similar to .mp3. This is done so the game wouldn't have to actually generate the SFX.

    The level debug uses the life icon counter instead of the SCOR"E" counter. With the level debug you can make your own levels, putting palmtrees and loops all over the place. The code was removed from Sonic 1 by Sega. It still shows up in a official cheat magazine by Sega. The code is almost the same but B+START instead.

    Of course it's the "RING" Sonic 1 pre-release, and it would help me a lot to have it while programming Sonic.

    Purple flowers! This is an early version, but I believe all the "RING" betas got the level debug.
