I think mine has to be in this order: 1) Sonic CD’s US Soundtrack (Boom) 2) Sonic Adventure 2 3) Sonic 1 4) Sonic 3D: Flickies Island (MD) 5) Sonic Advance 3 (or maybe Sonic Battle).
I'll go with Mania because it has the best interpretations of classic themes, and the exclusive music is really good. ESPECIALLY titan monarch themes.
Mania's soundtrack is absolutely perfect for what it is, so that might be my choice. It's a little hard though, since there are a lot of great Sonic soundtracks out there. 3&K, CD, the Adventures, the Advances, Unleashed... yeah, hard to choose.
Gun to my head, SA1 is the best overall. And there are a few top tier contenders but I think SA1s compositions add so much to the general atmosphere of each of Sonic's environments. Of course there's a large diversity of tracks as well. Remixes from the classics as well as many originals. The Sonic-y sound of the classics is done justice and built upon for at times a more cinematic feel. I can't really think of a "bad" sonic soundtrack tbh but SA1 probably wins out for me. Maybe followed by Sonic CD JP/EU, and Sonic 3K. Unleashed and SA2 are up there as well. Edit: I forgot about Mania. It's mostly remixes so it'd hard to rate among the more original material. But Lopes did a fantastic job obviously.

Extremely generic answer but 1. Live and Learn 2. His World 3. It Doesn't Matter (SA1) All really popular picks but I like them a lot.
I find it hard to pick a favorite soundtrack. They're all (well, almost all) amazing in their own way. But if I have to, I'd go with Chaotix. That's exactly how I'd describe Sonic CD. Even today, nearly 30 years later, it still sounds fresh, and I've not yet been able to find anything else quite like it. As soon as I discovered the genre was termed 'New Jack Swing' I thought I'd found the key to unlocking a whole new world of music I hadn't discovered, but it turns out, Sonic CDs soundtrack seems to somehow stand on it's own.
