What Are The Best Sonic Songs From Each Sonic Game?

I'm a really big fan of Snowy Peak from 06, probably my favorite song in the series if it wasn't for His World Instrumental
If I had to pick something from Frontiers it would probably be Chaos Island Movement 2, or Undefeatable.
There are simply too many songs to pick from and I'd rather not make a list bigger than my hand, but these are some of the first ones I think of when I think Sonic.

 

It's the other way around: if someone is looking for opinions, but they don't bother to use the search engine to see if the same question has already been asked, they lose dozens of valuable answers provided in the past, while people who've been here for some time might be annoyed to reply over and over again, or not reply at all, again losing potential answers.

Hence my point: since this is a recurring popular question (I'm sure someone is going to ask it again in 3 to 6 months), having it merged and pinned sound like a good idea to me, so all the answers are collected and available, but it's a mere idea.

Advance: the snow one idk

I've just come here to say its Ice Mountain and despite the generic name for the zone the music is awesome and the level theme itself is really nice. I love the Ice aesthetic but I'm also an Ice Cap Simp.

 

Oh the music is actually great, I just could not for the life of me remember the name

 

How about Volcano Valley Act 2 from Sonic 3D Blast (Genesis/MD)? That bassline is insane...

I mean, the entire soundtrack to that is one big long 'how the fuck did you get that out of that hardware' situation, and just a series of bangers in general.

 

This was pretty hard and couldn't solidly decide between a few.

Something I've always liked about Sonic compared to other platformers is that it doesnt try to limit itself to extremely specific genres. The whole series covers so many different styles that you can get a good read on someone's music preferences just by them telling you what their fav Sonic songs are.

Colors: Planet Wisp 1 and Sweet Mountain 1. I also love some parts of Speak with Your Heart but I hate the cheesy main riff in the verses.

Generations: City Escape 1

Lost World: Sea Bottom Segue

Mania: Mirage Saloon Act 1 for Sonic/Tails, Lava Reef 1 (just extending the riff made a great track even better).

Forces: Infinite Battle 1, Fist Bump’s Null Space arrangement, and Fading World.

Frontiers: Every metalcore boss theme, The End, Cyberspace 1-5, 1-2. I think there are probably more I love but it’s hard to remember which is which lol.

Those are what I can think of off the top of my head.

 

I've only really ever played the old games and Mania so my picks will be limited.

Sonic the Hedgehog - Star Light Zone
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - perfect tie between Death Egg Robot boss theme and Mystic Cave 2 player/Hidden Palace Zone
Sonic CD - Stardust Speedway Zone past for the Japanese soundtrack (Collision Chaos a very close second) and for the American soundtrack, Stardust Speedway bad future (also, an honourable mention for Tidal Tempest past from the Japanese soundtrack)
Sonic 3 & Knuckles - Big Arm boss theme
Sonic Mania - Mirage Saloon

 

For many years as a kid I was convinced 3D blast came out on different hardware and sega was lying in the mega collection plus.

 

I actually got it in I think 1997? Like the year after it came out, for as one of my Christmas gifts, I’m positive. I remember renting it when it was released and also wanting a Saturn at the time for X-Treme, I actually never knew it hadn’t come out until way later.
