Interesting. I guess 3tb is very much "Virtua Fighter 3 with more stuff" but I wouldn't have guessed it was still on Sega's radar. I would have put money on them favouring Virtua Fighter 2 on this kind of project.

The thing is that VF3tb is still regarded in most western quarters as a 'black sheep' of sorts - but in Japan it has had somewhat of a rehabilitation during recent years, where core arcades like Mikado still run tournaments on it. So it makes more sense from that perspective.

Holding out hope that this somehow ends up packaged within the version of VF3 that'll be featured in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

Worth pointing out that this also includes the arranged version of the VF3 soundtrack that was first featured in VF5 Ultimate Showdown.

3tb could always be set to a "non-tb" mode - you don't even need to go into the service settings. It's not exactly the same as the vanilla game, but it's close enough for most.

AMP3 is kinda cool and the closest thing to a Sega platform nowadays

If this is a "where's my rollback netcode" post, good luck getting that into a 3D fighting game

What are you on about? Tekken 7 uses rollback. For Honor and Knockout City, 3D arena games, also use rollback.

Last I'd heard Tekken 7 had no rollback but maybe they patched it in. I don't play Tekken

Thanks, I was mainly referring to the online multiplayer and enhanced UI of this. The Dreamcast port of VF3tb is already playable online via Fightcade but having an easily accessible online-enabled port of the Model 3 version would be awesome.

  13. VF3 was awesome IMO, it also had the best music score in VF game. Nice to see SEGA giving a new lease of life.
Hopefully, SEGA is looking to bring VF6 out at one stage and I wonder if it would look to go with VF3 environments and their multi tier design

Then you might like this: a two-disc Virtua Fighter 3tb Online PREMIUM MUSIC COLLECTION set will be released next month. It includes the original Model 3 OST and several unused tracks, along with the arranged versions that were previously available as DLC in VF5US. I don't see any mention of a digital or streaming release alongside the CD pack.

The arranged score almost offers a "what could have been" had the VF3 Saturn port been completed, considering the arranged music options featured in the VF1 and VF2 ports.

  15. Thats for the info. The Saturn remixes of VF tracks were some of the best to come out of SEGA's digital studio.
