I was wondering if it is possible to convert a .vgz or a .vgm file (taken from a Genesis emulator) into a .smps file?
While such a tool does exist, it should be noted that the biggest issue with VGM to SMPS conversion is that VGM it's basically just a series of raw register writes that get sent to the sound chips, while SMPS is a sequencing format that holds information for notes, instruments, and effects. While the tool has proven that converting raw register data back into music information can be done, it's not perfect and still has its limitations, depending on the capabilities of the target sound driver, and the tool's ability to detect certain effects and what not.
I don't mean to be rude, but dude, you don't even know how to properly use the quote tags in a forum post, I'm not sure if you should even attempt something much more technical.
Yeah, you're right :I This's like my first post on these forums, and I kinda gave up on the SMPS thingy :/
