I genuily like the US soundtrack, but I think it should have used in another Sonic game, not Sonic CD lol (because there's some songs in special that fits with "Sonic mood" itself).
honestly stardust present jp is groovy and all but i FEEL the us version i mean gawh damn that shit runs through my veins
Not to mention US Stardust Speedway's got its own groove anyway. It actually does the JP thing where it has this catchy background rhythm that really comes into prominence in the Good Future version. I think it holds its own just as well and maybe even better if you consider that it just sounds more like race music but that's more arbitrary. And US still got JP SS Past anyway which is lowkey best of all its versions IMQHO.
I certainly PREFER the JP soundtrack, but i can totally see why someone would prefer the US one. Those US tracks arent always headbangers, and i dont go out of my way to listen to them, but they can really moody and atmospheric in a uniquely CD way. I especially love how some like Collission Chaos Bad Future use the guitar.
I just say I like both and move on. Same for Mega Drive and SEGA Saturn version of Sonic 3D Blast OST.
This might be an unpopular opinion. I'll test the waters by posting here. In 99% of cases of songs with vocals being used in Sonic games, I abhor them with a passion. The one exception is the song playing during Sonic CD's opening FMV sequence in the Japanese version (not Sonic Boom – I hate that song with a passion – but the other one from the Japanese version...that is solid). Or, that Speed of Sound song. It sounds awful. Or any of the others. They all sound so corny.
It's got a really solid hook. It sounds corny but more in a nostalgic 1980s anime type of way whilst the Sonic Boom song sounds corny in a 1980s lame-action-movie-motivational-song-playing-during-a-montage type way which is something I'm not particularly fond of.
I'm always the odd one out because I always preferred the PC music over MD for sonic 3 and the US music over JP for cd
Ehh maybe not pc but the beta tracks for carnival night will always be better than the final, also the saturn ost of 3d blast goes hard
Sega should pitch a new F-Zero to Nintendo and see if its success could lead to a cool new Sonic game.
Still upset that the Boost games did not have a Multiplayer versus mode that lead to exactly that. Sonic R x F-Zero. I'm also still upset of the bait and switch they did with Team Sonic Racing. Fuck SEGA and fuck SUMO.
>SA2B sells like hotcakes >Sega literally never releases a mainline Sonic game with good multiplayer ever again Yet another thing everyone liked that (I guess) died with 06 because it was in 06.
