Two questions about Neo Geo Pocket Color

So, I'm getting closer to obtain one of those (and of course some games), but there are two things I would like to know, and I will be really grateful for help/advices.

1.How can you distinct differences between original and bootleg games? There are plenty of them on ebay, most of them are in quite reasonable price, but almost none of them is in original box (which is not surprising), sometimes it's in very low price and high amount, which is especially suspected (as far as I remember there is one seller from HK who is selling dozens of Sonic Pocket Adventure). I don't have any knowledge about bootleg games for this one, despite my short research in the internet.

2.What can I use to dump roms from my cartridges? I know I'm a black sheep, but since I've bought Retrode and all plugins I'm trying to play on emulators only in games dumped from my own cartridges (and rom hacks from Sonic Retro). Since someone already dumped them, because they're present in internet after all, I'm assuming that there is some way(s), but how shall I do this?

The Neo Geo Pocket Color was widely sold at a heavily discounted price with 6 games about ten years ago or so. None of the games were in their original boxes and the package came in a blister pack, not distributed by SNK themselves. Apparently there was loads of old stock lying around and they were snapped up by a company called Eplayplay, who sold them as "Color Pocket Arcade". The system and games themselves were the real deal though, despite the lack of original boxes.

Funny thing, I've recently found by accident in the internet picture of NPGC with games in this blister pack you've mentioned (didn't know that it wasn't official though). Now that makes more sense... Thanks for answer.

And I've found out the dumper I was looking for! I didn't even expect that someone is selling such devices. It'll probably take some time until it will arrive to me, I really can't wait.

By the way - I've experienced some other issue. It's the first time I'm playing on handheld without backlight (not counting these old brick games, but that's a completely different story), so it seems that some mobile lamp could be useful. It's been a while since these bulky lamps for GBA were produced, so I'm assuming that there is something small and handy enough to "attach" it to the console.

Do anyone know about such lamps, which could be useful to play on consoles like NGPC?

I don't know if there were ever special lights produced for it (though I suppose it's not unlikely), but maybe you can help yourself out with a clip-on book light, shouldn't you find one.
I really need to get one too someday. The NGP's PSG sound is great. Almost like the SMS/GG PSG

Probably there wasn't any specific accessory for NGPC (I've searched for some info about it internet, but without any luck), but to be honest, I was thinking from the beginning about device a bit "newer" and initially intended for other purpose. You know, smaller, using these little flat & round batteries (I don't remember how do we call them :P). Especially since this sort of lamp for GBA was considered as a bit bulky and power draining stuff, so it's probably better to skip this period and find something "newer".

The clip-on book light you've mentioned seems to be great idea, I'll try to find some shop where I could buy one, I know that it's easy and cheap to buy something like that in the internet, but I would like to try if it will be fitting to my handheld.

I totally agree, that sound effects and music are really cool in case of NGPC. I've mostly played in Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure so far (and a bit in Puzzle Link, Metal Slug 2nd Mission and Dark Arms), but still, I like it. Especially when we're looking at the year of release. IMO one of the best handhelds which said "goodbye" to the XXth century. It's a shame that we never saw it's successor.

Well, I'v got one more question about NGPC accessories. I didn't found too many so far. Case bag seems to be useful, but it's a bit rare thing, fortunately simple case for Nintendo DS seems to be good enough, although there is no space to put some additional cartridges inside). I'm wondering about this mysterious Schock'n'Rock from Nyko. Is it even worth of attention? Speakers seems to be for me rather useless, because I'm using headphones anyway. Are other features useful enough to consider buying this set? I've read that it's working really long on batteries, so this docking station doesn't seem to be something like "must have".
