Alright, I've been here for a while and I've been meaning to work on a project that isn't Sonic the Fighters. I've grown pretty bored of it, actually. So I figured I'd mess around with Sega arcade games still, and I'd like to see what I can do with Turbo Outrun. Now, I've found a bit of documentation on this, and it's reconstructed from some old type of compression and it's written in C and uses Allegro. I've only ever managed to get a working compile of it (a Windows compile of it anyway) working on my father's old Vaio. Some of you might have better luck if you're familiar with Allegro. The C file is as follows: http://pastebin.com/m1f03cad5 As you can see, this works for more than just Turbo Outrun. I'd like to see if we can't make this into a more modern and user-friendly version. Also, as far as I am aware, this version did not support palettes. Anyone else interested in a project like this?
Heh. I saw this and for a moment thought it meant the MD version =P Interesting number of supported games - this could be quite intriguing.
I can try rewriting it with a Qt4 UI later today. EDIT: Or not. Too much college stuff. Maybe sometime later.
If you can graphic hack it, you should try to make the all the stages that look NOTHING like what they should (D.C, Atlanta, Dallas, San Antonio..etc)
