Could not help but come on here. I've been playing the "Picross 3D 2" demo that came out today and I've heard a song that's extremely similar to Tails'/Bridge Zone theme. I don't what it's called, but it's the 4th book you unlock.
I know this isn't technically a song at all lol But this guy really reminds me of Old Man Owl from the OVA. "Quite popular with the ladies!" At the 2:05 - 2:10 mark https://youtu.be/d2JIHzPVRn8?t=2m4s Old Man Owl at the 5:55 mark https://youtu.be/OxhMYk_xljQ?t=5m54s
The beginning of this song reminds me of a section of the Boss Theme from Sonic 3 & Knuckles. I can't explain it better, but I'm sure you'll hear it.
Can someone explain to me why the chorus breakdown of this song makes me think of Sonic? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QI4f6JCF45c
http://youtu.be/nT9ZiWHBoaU Starting at about 30 seconds (skipping the intro) through the chorus, this song sounds quite similar to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vn-oPELS51g + - Initially I thought it was already posted by someone else, but I couldn't find it.
Knuckles Chaotix Amazing Arena part 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKTNjcwo9ZE Gets totally taken by Travis Scott on the song "Way Back" )There's no way I could find the actual song on Youtube because of copyright but there's a reaction vid.) I know this was mentioned a few posts back, but yeah, Uptown Funk does indeed sound like Sonic CD's boss theme. In fact, I made a video on it over a year ago, when the song was still popular on the airwaves. I love similarities like these, they're just so interesting to research.

Doesn't exactly belong in this topic, but Hacienda House Orchestra was just on TV. They performed orchestrated versions of late 80s/early 90s acid house music, the relevant inclusion being 808 State's Pacific 707. Worth a listen, if you can. There's an amateur audience-recorded video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Diu2f_5fpnA I'll try to get a clean broadcast version soon.
A friend's post on Facebook reminded me of the similarity between New Jack Swing songs and music from Sonic. While listening to a lot of New Jack, I found this song, which I think sounds a lot like Knuckles' Theme from Sonic 3. It was produced by the same guy that produced Michael Jackson's album Dangerous : Teddy Riley, one of the biggest (and best) New Jack Swing producers. Perhaps the similarities between Carnival Night Zone and Jam are actually just due to the Sonic 3 composers being inspired by Teddy Riley's music? So I was listening to some of the music from Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, and well, this song in particular popped up. At least to me, the beginning to me sounds like something from Shadow the Hedgehog, then it kind of goes into sounding like something from Sonic Adventure 1 and 2. 0:48 in particular kind of reminds me of some of Tails' stages in Adventure 2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NM9Jy4NrJ7k
Been a while since I listened to the SA2 soundtrack, but I get what you mean. I think parts of Mission Street and Eternal Engine also came to mind, but it could be just me.
Time for a bump:
https://youtu.be/8jKL2BdqawU?t=1m14s and https://youtu.be/fHuRXIKn0zw?t=23s sound remarkably similar.
Was this ever posted before? If not, holy moly. vs Ironically, the same thing happened with the same demo song on Trolls 2. Now we know why the song was changed in the Game Gear version. :P
Oof, that's a great find! I wonder if the other zones that were tweaked a bit had a reason to be.. (Aqua Planet and Sleeping Egg) though those were only slight edits rather than entirely different songs so maybe not.
Well shit, it practically is Gigalopis Zone's main parts in there. How did we not noticed this at all until now for 5 and a half years? :specialed:
